Well considering Typemoon's RRP on their site is 8400 yen for the standard edition, consider yourself lucky it's going for quite alot less on many sites (amiami, toranoana etc). In fact, it's pretty damn cheap for a high profile new VN release.
On another note, more Aoko <3 Spoiler for ametoyuki:

As for RPGs, no, from the ones I bought in Japan, they're about the same there as they are here. Last edited by GundamAce; 2011-02-11 at 18:27. |

I'd say the price range can be extremely varied (who can forget that bin of FFXIII games for 500 yen all of a month after release ) but generally from what I've seen new release VNs geneally go for ~8/9k yen reg and 10/11k+ for limited ed. Give it some time and the price may rise or fall depending on availability and popularity.

people just wasting lot of time just to make interactive media with lot of pretty picture and awesome music for 3 year. yet they price it high i guess this is comparable to movie industry in the west :P /run away

I don't believe they're unreasonably priced. Don't forget that this stuff takes a lot of time to make. The studio employees have to get paid, volume sales probably aren't as high as mainstream games, so that money has to come from somewhere.
Besides, how long has it been since the last TM project >_> (although they should be making a pretty penny from all their various licenses)

Someone translated the demo in English and inserted it, something that was puzzling everyone so you can try it, if you like.
Sojourou gardening skills are awesome. Also flying pigs and Mystic Eyes of Heart Attack. Overall, all the graphics are like CGs, the music is a delight on the ears, it contains a lot of animation, is pretty good.

I forgot how beautiful Nasu's writing was before playing this game..
Somehow I really like the fact that Aoko is a bit..well I don't know how to describe it well except for: girly. I thought every magician were weird and socially awkward, but I guess it's different with Aoko Considering she still read girl's magazine, having a guitar in her room and a member of student council, I guess she could adapt well with modern society
