What is there to rush? The game is not actually THAT long.

If you include the events that don't have battles, some of the Fate events which are important to the "true" Daichi ending, as well as all the Anguished One events that explain how the world works, the story is pretty long - as long as any other Persona or SMT RPG.

Hmm, I'm really liking the OP actually. I haven't played the game(s) so I don't know if it fits all that well with the story but I still like it alot. Not liking the ED very much so far though. Maybe that'll change once I hear it a bit more. This is looking very good so far. Is there a release date for the anime?

You're severely overestimating the importance of
Spoiler for Well ok just to be sure:
and a million other events that are exactly like that.

Didn't know that. Then there's not much hope left. Personally I'm more worried abot DR adaptation though...

I love how we came back to this example, easily the most pointless events in the game.

Well as people already said, it really depends on how the story is paced, how much exposition they want to include (which DS had quite a lot of, if you'd remember) and how deeply they want to go into the characters, especially those with really involving plots
[cut]
and that's something we'll have to watch to find out. 13 episodes is a snug fit, but it could easily go beyond that, and I'm not talking about the "pointless" developments.

I won't say there is no way for them to mess this up. I'm just not too concerned simply because it's "only" 13 eps. If you go by just the relevant stuff, you could easily do with less (of course lose some amusement in the process).

That's not to ignore that the shorter the timespan, the more attention they need to give to the actual pacing.

Enjoyed it a lot. The animation and music are great, and I really liked the setting. It really felt like an adaptation from a videogame(and I love ATLUS). 9/10, easily.

Like the ED. Everything else is just... meh. Boring, sluggish, so-so animation and color palette.

Also not DS game fan, so count me out -_-

I agree that it felt like a video game, but I don't think that's a good thing. The way the pulsing red explodey monster had an attack pattern took my right out of the story.

I thought they balanced the anime and gaming "feeling" really well.

But I love ATLUS' games so maybe that's it.

"Dead face"? What an awkward translation... could they have just called in a death clip like they did in the games?

Count me in. Found myself totally lost in the atmosphere of the entire episode, and there aren't many anime that pull that off.

Pacing-wise it seemed alright, though having never played the game I wouldn't know how it relates back to the source material in terms of pace. Love the OP and ED.

Kamiya Hiroshi as the lead (Hibiki Kuze) seems to fit, though his distinctive voice always makes me think "Freecell"? (of Phi Brain fame).

Either way, it disappoints me that it's only 13 episodes - but it's going to be a grand ride from start to finish, I feel.

Well, this really felt like a game, not that I mind.

I haven't played the game so I don't know how things are supposed to be, but I liked the characters and the general mood. But actually what I liked most were: Okamoto Nobuhiko as Daichi, the music, and the OP/ED. Kamiya Hiroshi was a bit distracting, I wouldn't have chosen him for this role, but he's not bad.

Complain to the anime makers, this is how they translated it to English, on-screen.

(And now I have the urge to rewatch Tokyo Majin Gakuen..... xD;; )

I'm not too thrilled with animation.
I mean that character design could have been better.
The story is really interesting so far.
Just the kind of story that I like ^^
Will be watching this one!

I'd wager that, like with Persona 4: The Animation (the other ATLUS game adaptation in the last few years), this is the same art style and character design as was in the games.

I see 0 scenes of Airi in ep1, therefore my rating is 0/10.

It is true to the games. In the Japanese games at least the interface is in English and it says the exact same thing. Since the anime is also Japanese, they just used the same design.

From the game:
