Hope it would be better than Elfen Lied.

Recently, I watched the first teaser trailer for Brynhildr. I did not learn anything about this series, until reading the premise that the show is adapted from the manga written and illustrated by Lynn Okamoto; the same guy whom delivered Elfen Lied.

Just like with Elfen Lied, ARMS produced and animated Brynhildr. The visuals look promising, but I'll be looking forward to the characters. Reading your comments, I'm interested on picking the manga to see for myself what's the story is up.

I can say that Brynhildr shares some key components to Elfen Lied like the childhood friend, a traumatic past, repressed memories, and a supernatural agent, but I know both are completely different stories. What's curious is it will become 10 years since I last watched an anime adaptation to one Okamoto Lynns' mangas, that I'll be looking forward to. I can only say best wishes for this show and hope this thread becomes as busy, as the Elfen Lied thread did 10 years back.

Wow !
I really like the work of Lynn Okamoto in Elfen Lied so i'm going to give it a chance. The animation looks good and the story is kind of interesting !

So this this one of these extremely gloomy "Oh no, all hope is lost" series?
Preview image looks nice, but I really can't stand gloomy series.

That comparison with Madoka is more accurate than you'd expect.

Have a feeling there will be censorship at times. For those who read the manga they know what I mean. Most likely will have to wait for AT-X or BD then.

I will atch the anime but i dont have a big hope. The Manga is great but also ongoing. So i think the ANime wil have 12 episodes thats maybe 53 Chapters?
Thats means we have also an open end like in Elfen Lied.

53 chapters in a single cour?! no no no. That would be disastrous pacing-wise.

You could easily do more than 1 chapter per episode, but I guess the Story won't get past chapter 20 and will finish with an original end

Yeah but i think is the Story go for Chapter 53 its a good open end.
Or we get an ending like Elfen Lied, Gantz or GTO.

For some reason I already thought HanaKana was doing the female lead. Gee, I wonder what led me to thinking that?

Regardless, I'm actually a fan of Taneda. Sure there was no way for me distinguishing between her roles in Beyond the Boundary and Strike the Blood (yeah her range sucks), but it isn't annoying and seems natural for your typical female lead in an action/adventure kind of setting. Here she's more stoic it seems, so I think that's a first for her roles.

You probably didn't watch her other roles if you saying so. Maybe her voice is always recognizable but she has a decent range.

I'm not sure if that's actually part of the score. It sounds familiar, but I can't place it. My mind could be playing tricks on me (not that it ever does that . . . ). It might just sound similar to something else I really like it though!

Very likely it is. It fits into the style of music composer of series whose examples of his other music you can hear above.
