Well, I just finished the English version of Volume VI. It was a little hard to follow who was speaking in a couple of spots, so it required re-reading some paragraphs.

Overall, I was pleased. A nice choice of less common English words and old expressions made the dialogue feel antiquated and very period appropriate.

And, I did not notice any misspellings or grammatical errors this go-around!
But, I am far from perfect, so...

I can't wait for the English version of Volume VII!

O... my... god.... what a photoshop fail moment...... I can't resist writing to Yen with a polite "wtf?" letter.

"Dear Yen, Holo's ears are on top of her head.... what are those horrible growths you have pictured on volume 6 on the sides o her head in addition to her wolf ears?"

I will have to email them as well... of course, will that change anything?

And, who was the photographer... i.e. was it a subcontracted project or was it Yen themselves... probably the first.

I assume its the same guy and model that's been doing them all..... but up to now they kept the model's human ears hidden. If there's enough of a "wtf?" the second printing will probably photoshop hair over the ears...

And the drama of the covers continues

This is probably one of it not the worst of the covers IMO.

I for one wouldn't mind if it felt like they were putting some effort into them. I'm no photographer, but for some reason it doesn't seem like they're trying too hard.

They do the original cover printed directly onto the book, and the western cover as a printed cover you can take off or leave on to protect the book.

Is anyone actually keeping the dust jackets? I pop them off when I get them and keep them standing by if I ever need to light a fire.

I keep my books in the jackets, mainly because I don't want the actual covers collecting smudges.

No lie, I actually already burned my dust jackets during a campfire I had a few weeks ago with some friends.

I originally was keeping them because I thought "cosplay by people unfamiliar with cosplay" was interesting... but yeah, all the dust cover jackets are going now. I wrote Yen Press and their overlords about the 'faux pas' but got no response. Its really silly because it could fixed with a bit of airbrushing hair over the model's ear.

Hachette at least told me that they would forward my concern to the people at the Yen division, but that likely little could be done but that maybe Yen would take my concerns into consideration on future dust jackets.

Regarding a response from Yen... I'm still waiting (and expecting no response).

Ah.. checked my mail today and a similar response. Yeah I don't expect them to fix it (other than to slap the photographer around and airbrush it if they have a second printing)...

Am I the only one that doesn't actually mind the dust jackets? I keep them on as protectors of the actual book cover but I don't mind them.
