So nobody got the game? Heard the sidecharacters barely get any screentime or even endings

The story mode is split into two categories. You have the main story and individual character scenarios. Now the main story is relatively entertaining and definitely offers more substance plotwise than any entry of the franchise up to this point as you switch off between various characters through different points of the plot. The main story scenario isn't on the same degree of depth or length as a Blazblue or Guity Gear game. In fact, you could probably beat it in a single sitting if you're not too pressed for time. But the cinematic take on the action used to chain one battle to the next was kind of cool.

It's the individual character scenarios that definitely feel lacking by comparison though. I haven't completed all of them yet, but the general flow for the character scenario is

a brief background summary of what they're up to ==> maybe one cutscene ==> one fight ==> ending.

That's it. So yeah...you could say the side characters barely get any screentime.

What makes it more aggregating for me is that since some character scenarios overlap with others, we're left wondering which character endings are canon.

I like Tekken 7 storyline but the only thing I didn't like is that the pact of characters involved in the story. At least street fighter V pooled in most of the characters into the story line while tekken 7 is like 5-7 characters at best.

So, I finally got to play Tekken 7. Let's start off with the good:

- Fairly large character roster, with many types of different fighters.
- Impressive graphics.
- Easy to play, HUGE throw windows.

And that's about that. As for the bad...

- The entirety of the rage meter.
- Not so good art work.
- Altered cmd lists.
- Freakin' Akuma, where's Lei?

To explain myself a bit, having a rage meter that grants access to a new set of moves or a special throw would be good. Having a super-armor cheapshot to win a match is just lazy AF. It also deters new players from actually learning how to play the game, so I really don't know what they were thinking when this feature was introduced.

Having Akuma in a Tekken game feels weird. His jumps are different, his fighting style is obviously impossible, his moves are loooooooong and he generally doesn't play like a Tekken character (because he ISN'T ONE, duh).

Heard that Akuma even heals himself. I heard he is even worse than the cheap Magaki from KOF XI.

He is the only character who cancels, his animations are long as shit (making him VERY susceptible to counters), his rage art has a very specific distance (if used point-blank, it always fails) and he just doesn't feel like he belongs in the game.

It's not the first time you get unique characters, I bet we all remember true ogre, gon, alex&roger or even Dr. B, etc. but at least those characters were...more in-world, I guess?

P.S: On the REALLY bad of the game, Yoshimitsu's suicide blade hurts him more than his opponent, also not sure if he retains majin dance.

The game has sold 1.66 million copies worldwide by now. I think it already surpassed Tekken 6's sales from an entire year

T6 sold over 3 million..... and shipped 3.5 million.... no guarantee T7 even comes within 500k of t7...

T7 has already outsold TTT2 IIRC though.

Well... T6 sold 1.5 in a single year whereas T7 hit 1.6 in two months if I get it well.

Anyway, a new game simply titled Tekken was announced for the smartphones focused on Kazuya is being developed.
