Hungry Heart Wild Striker (52 episodes, 2002)
Tracked here: http://www.animesuki.com/series.php/55.html
I'm wondering if anyone else had a chance to see this anime? I noticed there wasn't a discussion thread for it. I think Saizen did a great job translating this series. There have been previous threads related to this series but none for discussing the anime itself. *Manga *Saizen torrents: 1-3, 4-6, 13-24,14-19, 52 Course it's all outdated since Saiz finished their massive 52-ep batch on July 13 2004. So I guess it'd be older now, but it's really quite good. Other soccer anime are 1983's Captain Tsubasa, 1993's "Aoki Densetsu Shoot" (+movie), 2001's Captain Tsubasa Road and May 2002's "Whistle!" Aoki and Whistle were fun to watch. I haven't had the pleasure yet to watch either of "Captain Tsubasa". I think that'd the only anime I've heard of where the main char isn't the striker scoring all the goals or something. Have heard good things. Others I know next to nothing about which appear to have anime are: 1986 Ganbare, Kickers! (26 eps) (no tracker, probably unsubbed) 1994 Soccer Fever (51 eps) (same) 2008 Inazuma 11 (127 eps tracker has them all by Ryuu-Rogue + the movie) 2010 Giant Killing (26 eps) (tracker removed) 2011 Inazuma 11 Go (19+ ongoing) Last edited by tyciol; 2011-08-31 at 17:31. |

Wild Striker is a pretty good soccer anime. I've seen it years ago (never read the manga). The story and the animation are good for its time. The main character, Kyosuke Kano, is the usual reckless-but-talented player.
Something I really want to see more of this anime is more scenes of Kyosuke training the female soccer team. I didn't know why I want it. I guess it's just interest me to see a delinquent train a female soccer team. That alone can be a great Idea of a harem anime ^_^.
