According to Famitsu, this game will have online, but no Battle Spot, no Wonder Trading, and no GTS, and that the online will be "simplified". I'll wait to see what that means, but they also said that you'll need the Switch online service to access it. In addition the only difference between the two versions is the differences between Red/Blue, meaning the wild Pokemon, and no plot changes.

Thoughts on this? To be honest, this is sounding a bit scummy if this continues into the gen 8 games. Full price games for two versions which are just going to be varied Pokemon as usual, on top of paying for Bank, now for Switch online (which is acceptable IMO), and there's the possibility that they get rid of features like Wonder Trading. If this persists into gen 8, they need to make some changes.

Why would you expect Wonder Trading and GTS? They made it pretty clear through the naming scheme and the lack of wild Pokemon battles that this is a spinoff series to revitalize the casual Pokemon Go players, and that the actual traditional mainline entry won't be until 2019.
