I'm not sure if Macross Delta has much less fan-art than Frontier (oh, the tons of pictures I have saved on my harddrive... and those were the good ones!) or we simply have less people scouring the appropiate boards for pictures.

Of course no Sheryl, so that is a factor which will dampen every type of enthusiasm. ^^

Delta appears to be off to a slow start on Pixiv, though there's been more art since the last few episodes. Freyja is in most of it.

Frontier ended long ago and it is most popular part of Macross with modern audience. I doubt it had so much more fanart on 8th airing week.

You clearly were not here during Frontiers run. ^^ The amount of fanart posted here was gigantomanic.

Now I has a sad that all of it is gone, because the hosted content has expired.

Oh, well, I still have my 1200 pictures in MF folder on my PC. Which, as you'll recall, was the really good artwork (IMO). There was about five times or more artwork posted in total.

No, I was not. But it's still eight years and web habits have changed in the meantime, hell, Pixiv was new back then. I could go even further back to a period when what art was available (which had a very high proportion of scanned art) was shared on newsgroups, before forums leeched off most of those users.

Ah the golden era of pixiv fanarts, most of the fanartists have already moved to twitter tho. Blame pixiv because they made changes to user interface and terms of service that made many fanartists angry enough to flee to twitter and other sites.

Now it's real pain in the ass to find fanarts on twitter because many fanartists are too lazy to tag the series.

The lack of Delta's fanarts compared to Frontier isn't because of popularity tho, it's because pixiv being a scumbag.
