people who ship this hard and are impacted that much by something like this need to reassess their priorities.

it's also not the VAs that make it convincing. it's the writing. they managed to get enough people invested through the last few episodes and cut deep enough to make them react like this. people who were in it just for the mech action grossly underestimated what this show was.

Meh, at least Mari Okada's teen melodrama writings are mostly used properly for series meant for teen melodrama like Toradora which supported by the everyday setting. It also helps that Okada is a better writer overall. Franxx on the other hand, uses its interesting world-setting just for teen melodrama (so far). That is such a crying shame. This is why my favorite Franxx episode is still the Zorome-episode which actually explores the world. And Franxx has what, five writers or more?

Also, I have seen mecha-series with heavy focus on teen romance doing their job a lot better with melodrama being pushed back considerably, one of them is finally airing again this very season after more than ten years.

Actually, it's a sign of the quality of the writing and directing along with the VA work for both episodes 13 and 14 that it's managed to stir up such positive and negative emotions in the audience. All of them deserve credit, but frankly so much of this rests on the team that did episode 13; they changed Zero-Two from a rather masculine heroine to a very human character with real, relate-able, insecurities and an internal logic to which all of her prior actions had been faithful. To my knowledge, Ichigo hasn't received that treatment yet, but it would be interesting to see her get that same treatment.

At such a young age, after causing death of 100+ stamens and being a witness to countless deaths on the battlefield, it's only natural that ppl death has stop be important for her.
Also, because of her isolation from other children she sees other parasites as ,,they'' not ,,we'' which makes it much easier for her to akcept APE's point of view that all parasites
are substitutable tools.

That's why I do not think we can call her evil. As for me, she is just simply emotionally unstable

Returning to the 14th episode

The action in this episode was reall painful to watch.
Virtually everything can be called a series of understatements and unlucky coincidences.

I feel bad for 02 however, I do not think Ichigo deserve so much hatred.
To better understand this, I suggest you watch the episodes 11-12-14 excluding 13 which is exist only in Hiro x 02 heads.
From this perspective, Ichigo's and the rest team behavior will much more understandable
