The sea in our world has been polluted. All sort of trash were thrown into the sea, making it unpleasant deep under the sea. One of the inhabitant of the sea, Ika Musume (Squid Girl) seeks to exact revenge on humanity for throwing trash into the sea. Clueless about the surface, she seeks to invade humanity alone, trying to rule over the world, only to find herself slaving away at one of the nearest beach-houses for breaking a side of its wall.

They added the question mark for the second season of the anime to differentiate it from the first, note how it's not in the manga title

Ika Musume is a great gag manga though, still not tired of it after ten volumes

Heh, I've said all along that Takeru/Ika shipping was going to happen sooner or later - I think it's obvious even in the anime that their relationship has grown more than her relationship with any other humans.

Remember Ika has a personality of a elementary schoolgirl, the body of a middle schoolgirl and IQ of a university grad.

Does she even grow up?

If Takeru does develop feelings for Ika imagine she would be so innocent she wouldn't notice it.

Spoiler* for Chapter 184: Won't You Make Home Visits?: The odd teacher reappears for a home visit. She is surprised at seeing Ika at Takeru's home. Considering her as her rival to the children's affection she asks who does Takeru like more her or Ika-chan. Takaru is like a pimp MC asked which girl he likes more. If reluctantly Takeru admits he likes Ika more. Much to the devastation of the female teacher. She comes to the conclusion it must be the Tentacles! Promising Chizuru she'll straighten out Takeru's deviance. Ika accepts her as a rival after the declaration of rivalry misunderstanding it. On to the next home visit the teacher asks Takeru's best pal the same question and gets the same answer. Thinking about it it would be amusing to see a love comedy around Takeru. He and Ika are getting closer growing up. Though as Eiko stated Ika will be probably disappointed Takeru grows taller than her. We've already seen already boys go out of their way to be nice to Ika Musume. How much of that is a crush we don't know. But Takeru knows more about Ika than anybody.
