Well of course, since necropolis is just another word for a large, built cemetery... literally a city (polis) of the dead (necro). But it is not a City ! Which is precisely Anh_Minh's point.

Southern Necropolis here is nothing but the name given to one of Glasgow's cemetery, and absolutely not a City per say.

No. It's about as "ironic" as looking for books in a library.

The difference between a necropolis and a cemetery is that you don't see the dead acting like the living in the latter.

P.S Sarcasm unintended. Just pointing it out.

Jobcentre ejects Jedi Knight
Refuses to dehood, stormtroopers intervene

Quote:
A Southend Jedi Knight who refused to dehood in his local Jobcentre was escorted from the premises by security stormtroopers, the Sun reports.

Chris Jarvis, 31, is described as a Star Wars fan and member of the International Church of Jediism. Said church's intergalactic hoodie uniform is at odds with the strict doctrine of the Department for Work and Pensions, which may require Jobcentre "customers" to remove crash helmets or hoods for "security reasons".

Following his ejection, Jarvis filled out a complaint form and within three days got a written apology from branch boss Wendy Flewers. She said: "We are committed to provide a customer service which embraces diversity and respects customers' religion."

Jediism was officially "recognised" as a religion back in 2001. At the time, no one could have suspected the potential pitfalls of acknowledging this apparently harmless sect, but Jedi hoods may now join burqas on the list of possible threats to national security.

Regarding burqas and the like, Jarvis protested: "I was just standing up for my beliefs. Muslims can walk around in whatever religious gear they like, so why can't I?"

Fair enough, but here's a handy suggestion for avoiding aggro: the next time you're confronted by security operatives, just dismiss them with a wave of the hand and a "this is not the hoodie you're looking for" and go about your job hunting in peace.
Oh lawl.

<Does Admiral Ackbar impression> "It's a TRAP!"

"Apparently a trojan/virus has been released alongside copies of Cross Days
flowing through the Japanese P2P networks, disguised as a fake installer. When
activated, the program gathers data from the computer and pretends to take a
survey of players, including asking for personal information. Once it's done,
everything gets uploaded to a public website, alongside a screenshot of their
desktop."

P.S. Since this game is about a cross-dresser, it's definitely a trap. In more ways than one.

Police get cracking on massive egg hunt

Quote:
TASMANIAN Police are scrambling to crack the case of Hobart's great inflatable Easter egg heist.

The five-metre high egg, which was full of air instead of chocolate, went missing from the roof of Coles Supermarket in Sandy Bay less than 24 hours after it was installed on Saturday as part of the store's Easter campaign, The Mercury reports.

The last person to see the egg in its rightful marketing position was a customer who left the store at 6pm on Sunday.

Why someone would want to steal a five-metre inflatable egg is the question which is perplexing Coles Sandy Bay store manager John Robb.
The amount of puns in this story make me laugh

Man inserts Zucchini into anus in a Suicide Attempt

A 62-year-old man was rushed to hospital after he attempted to take his own life the ancient way . The sexagenarian inserted a zucchini into his anus in the attempted suicide at his home in Hong Kong on Friday.

According to Ming Bao, the man's daughter who returned home at about 10.40pm was shocked to see her father moaning in pain and lying in a pool of blood . She rushed him to the hospital for bleeding in the anus . When asked by the medical assistants, the man said he wished to die and that it was an ancient way to take one's own life . The man is recuperating at the hospital after doctors removed the zucchini that was left in his rectum.

Theme park highlights challenges facing dwarfs
Quote:
KUNMING, China (Reuters) – Sitting in a valley in southwest China sits an unlikely and controversial theme park -- the Little People's Kingdom of dwarfs.

Here, dwarfs perform in fairytale costumes for tourists, drawing both curious crowds and a fair share of criticism.

For many of the employees, the park is a rare opportunity to find work, and, as unlikely as it seems for men and women doing daily spoof performances of Swan Lake in tutus, respect.
Okay, yes, this does sound dodgy and disrespectful of the park's employees. At the same time, they are making a living on their own merits instead of relying on charity. I would not be surprised if the park's visitors do gawk and make fun of them, and men (regardless of height) in tutus prancing about... I'd also laugh full stop, to be honest.

In the end, though, respect and acceptance do have to be earned, IMHO; from a pioneering POV, I can't really fault this park - so long as it does try to be, well, helpful.

Historic sex toys sold for £3,600 at Essex auction

Hopefully, the buyer is buying it for the collection and not use it for "you know what".

Police report for passerby who rescued schoolboy from tree

Quote:
A FIVE-YEAR-OLD British pupil was left stuck up a tree at school because a bizarre health and safety policy banned teachers from helping him down.

And when a passerby rescued the stranded child, she was reported to the police for trespassing, The Sun online reports.

The impish youngster climbed the 6m tree at the end of morning break and refused to come down.

But instead of helping him, staff followed guidelines and retreated inside the school building to "observe from a distance" so the child would not get "distracted and fall."

The child was only rescued when a woman noticed him and helped him down herself.

But instead of being thanked for her actions by staff at the Manor School in Melksham, southwestern England, Kim Barrett was reported to the cops.

Barrett, who lives in the town, was left stunned by the school's policy.

"I stopped to ask him if he was OK, and it became clear that he'd been there since the end of playtime, which had been around half an hour earlier," she said.

"I was immediately concerned. I walked over to the school with the boy and was met by the associate head (of the school).

"He didn't appear at all concerned, and was actually very patronising, patting me on the arm and asking me 'what do you expect me to do, exactly, dear?'

"When I said I thought it was a serious incident, he then said his only concern was me trespassing.

The next morning she was visited by a local cop who told her she trespassed by helping the young schoolboy down from the tree.

The school confirmed official policy prevents staff going to help children who have climbed trees.
*facepalm* dude...why do I bother?
