New Gundam Live-Action movie?
http://www.aintitcoolnews.com/display.cgi?id=18904
Gunota Headlines posted a link to a report that states Bandai & Sunrise are involved in making a Gundam Live-Action movie based on the first series. I personally wouldn't jump to any conclusions, but what's your take on this? |

Wait a minute Zeta Gundam is going to be released in Italy, Europe? An UC Gundam is going to be released in Europe, pinch me I must be dreaming.
Oh wait this is about the live action, meh, I think Gundam shouldn't involve CGI (except cell shading) nor live action but that's just me. |

Bandai & Sunrise probably know that G-Savoiur was one big flop, so I'm sure that they'll atleast try to learn from that mistake. But at the same time, you can also expect alot of name changes, and different looking mechs. This movie is supposedly produced by a Hollywood company so they need to make the movie appeal to movie goers in general.

Uh, are you high or something? Amuro and Bright have already been set as the english names in the original Mobile Suit Gundam. They can't change them, Moron. |

Please tell me you're kidding before I burst out laughing. You DO know I was kidding right? You of all people should know, judging by your avatar, that it was just me mocking the infamous Naruto dub hoax where they changed Naruto and Sasuke's names to "Nathan" and "Sean". Priceless. |

Only ILM could do the CGI necessary to make a live-action Gundam movie a success. And you'd need some decent actors. Though hiring ILM would severely cut into your budget...
Man if you look at SW ep 2, you'll see what I'm talking about. Movie sucked, but what good CGI...seamless..couldn't tell what's CG and what's real. |

I personally liked the sequels to the Matrix, even if it took some thinking to reason through. But I think Gundam is meant to be a sappy All Quiet On The Western Front type of commentary on war and tragedy, except that it ends happily ever after. |
