He can punch above his weight class, but in the grand scheme of things his weight class is still pretty low.

Two chapters updated. In short, they run into a boss monster, Zeff traps it in a gravity box to limit it to using magic, and uses Claude as a human shield. Then drop item gets snatched from them both by his past master, who is a Level 91 mage.

I'll admit, that was clever with the gravity trap.

Two chapters have updated. Credit to Milly for dropping the giant block on the skeleton, but she loses points for getting caught. And I feel it would have been better for the narrative if they didn't need to be saved, but this does establish that those two from the Association are not friends or allies and serves to show that they all lament their weakness.

They were fine with letting the group die, but the moment they picked up her trail they came rushing in. Very poor first impressions to their characters. We're probably not meant to like them.

That, or the author subscribes to the grimdark "every man for themselves" mentality for professionals.

It's kinda silly, but a lot of modern stories have it for added "realism".

It's a world where children are allowed, almost encouraged, to go unsupervised into monster nests looking for fights. Allowances have to be made.
