Naze's girls are clearly hungry for his D, poor Dante, he sure got the short end of the stick there.
New guy don't trust Mika, well like what Mika's friends are saying, he doesn't know who is he talking too yet. Biscuit sisters can now read better than Mika. Kudelia & Atra looks much more matured compared to season 1, must be the hair. It feels like Atra has overgrown Mika too. Well it's not that hard to overgrow Mika, even the twins look as tall as him now. McGillis is still trying to be no. 1 in Gjallahorn, is it even worth it anymore? And of course they won't waste time starting the action. Traditional Mika warfare begins, well we know who experienced that the best, a certain issue lady. The opening, Gaelio is that you? Or is that Ein? Either way, what's with that utterly ugly mask? You look like some rapist who had his head covered due to being too ugly. |

Great first episode covering how the cast and the world has developed after the finale last season. Quite sobering that Tekkadan's actions escalated the abuse of kids like them in the process.
How long is the timeskip exactly?

Great start, while Barbatos (and mainly Mika in it) kick ass it's nice that Tekkadan's MS can hold it's ground. Especially Shino as Ryuusei Go is probably starting to be slightly obsolete.
And seriously McGillis need some pawning soon. Using Carta name so shamelessly...

funny that Mika was now nicknamed the devil much like Amuro,
also our new masked guy better not be suspicious by having a familiar color scheme of a certain someone from the first season, or Mika just see through his disguise easily again the same way as McGillis's fail mask. |

Seriously man, I love all the segments about business, social-economy, management and even mob-dealings in this Gundam series, and episode 01 does not disappoint by addressing all that has happened after Tekkadan’s successful maiden mission. Some might view it as super-boring (like many has expressed for the first season), but I adore those kinds of things in a mecha series. Not just mindless action each episode to fill a quota. You did good Okada (and Nagai).
Also glad that the show touched the social impact of Tekkadan winning the battle against Gjallarhorn. The economic blocks other than Arbrau want their own Tekkadan so they forcefully hire kids from streets to make them into sooldiers & mercenaries or worse. They seem so eager to be independent from Gjallarhorn as soon as possible. I like all the bits about the characters too. If people can still associate Kudelia with Relena (from Wing) in the first season, it seems she has thrown away almost all of those damn traits. She’s a mature and independent woman now. She runs her own business of taking care the half-metal and manages its mines. And she’s a legit Tekkadan’s business partner now. Merribit being a legit Tekkadan member now (assuming from her uniform) is neat for Orga. He definitely needs her now that Biscuit has gone. Shino purposefully being the “bad cop” so that Eugene can be the “good cop” is also amusing. Even minor characers like the “Huey-Dewey-Louie” kids with colored-caps who learnt to read with Mika in season 1 are still relevant. We didn’t get to see Takaki’s lil-sis yet (correct me if I’m wrong), but I assume she also goes to a decent school. And glad that both Biscuit & Fumitan’s sacrifices are acknowledged by the Martians (it helps that Kudelia use Fumitan’s name for her company). Ps: I really really hope Hush is not the Shinn Asuka of this season. Heck, I won’t even tolerate another Camille Bidan if he doesn’t receive a good character development along the way. Or maybe that was the intention? Quote:
