This is not too unrealisticly for migratory birds. I've seen birds flying in such a configuration in autumn, so it is not impossible.

The Mai Hime crew looks a little bit too translucent. But I see the problem with the background in the source image, thus you need a rather strong transparency there ( me hopes KiNa finds a way to optimize it )

I'ld maybe rebalance the banners 1 and 3. Both seem a little off-center. But I am not sure if this affects the blending into the gradients then. So if it affects the blending too much better not recenter them.

The same recentering issue I'ld see for the 1st and 4th banner. But in general I must say you have a very very nice collection of banners.

ウンウン, looks good. I don't know how big the overall techy style element is, but if it has enough height, you could try to separate the part that is going through the text and try to realign it so that it underlines the text instead of passing behind it.

its easy to recenter them again if i just take the banner version and place it on top of the base BG template then with some nudge magic ^.^...though im being told that some more tweeking is in order...*back to the drawing board i go*

Alternate version


Since I got 2 different view on the translucency of the crew, I cant decide which one is better >.<
In the 1st version, the crew are more visible.. thus making them part of the image not as BG..

In 2nd version, they are there as BG props.. >.<

And yes.. I intentionally keep the school silhoutte in the back drop >.<

problem here isnt about the text being overpowering...its about the text looking good when your banner is at the top which is the whole point...i personally dont want to squint my eyes to make out title of the banner which is advertising the forum ofc...advice is just give and take as you please

Personally i prefer the second. I already think the banner is fairly cluttered by the mai-hime cast at the back. And the quality of the whole cast isn't very good either.




Somehow this one gives me a really night like feeling. Perhaps it's better for the dawn/dusk gradient.


As for this one. I think the font looks a bit to plain, and the empty space between the render and the text is to empty.


Decapitated!!! For some reason it irks me not seeing her head. But that is just personal, and impossible to rework the banner for just that. Btw is that a moon or a sun at the back? I would guess the moon. But mmm imho it doesn't look right with the overall look.

I changed the font, the contrast around the center, some soft and glowing aspect, and some birds between rena and the text.

I do like the font from the first version better though (: but the added birds are nice. It reminds me of how real birds actually line up in V's and stuff all the time. Although I do get the feeling the birds are charging at the girl.. not a very nice feeling :/

edit: actually scratch that, looking at it again makes it feel like the girl is part of the formation, and she's trying to be like a bird (her arms are spread out and everything) !

Yes my thoughts were very similar to this version. I hope you did not run out of techy style element and therefore had to put the text so heigh. Because personally I'ld prefer the text to be a little lower (maybe not really in the center but more to the center - center regarding height not width).
Nah maybe I complain too much. It is your banner not mine ^^'

edit: now I see it... if you go lower the width space will run out. But if you rearrange the left side vertical element more to the left you can gain some width.

... it is almost as if the girls "bath" in the clouds. I like the sky theme in the banner. Personally I find it not too bright, but I guess someone will sooner or later complain about the brightness

I have the feeling as if your second banner looks a little bit more like water themed than sky themed.

well if you seen higurashi then you will understand the meaning behind not showing her face...if you havent then my aim was to "mystify" the looker...probably didnt work hehe ~ and the circle at the back...moon or sun ill leave that up to you to decide ^.^ it probably looks too "solid" ~ might have to fix that :x



haha...i know a certain someone who would be disappointed that you used this render before him my opinions? overall its too bright...so bright that it is blinding x_x ~ i like the concept of the sea of clouds but it needs to be more defined that it is clouds...cause atm all i am seeing is mist or smoke...but the lighting you have it perfect...just lower the brightness a bit ~
for your text you need to make it stand out a bit more methinks...the colours are to similar to the BG with somewhat makes them hard to read :/

I like this one because it gives it a sense of "movement"(?) that the other one lacks. Did that make sense?

Definitely this one. It has a very nice feel to it ... now add a proper font and it will be a winner

i also prefer the hat. but the blur effect on the hat is really... well a bit too much. should be slightly toned down, especially that the BG around the hat is "somewhat" blur as well (maybe a placebo/nocebo effect heh...). You should add some impression of wind (various thin and transparent curve of white etc), it might improve the raw impression of the banner.


well... finally my third entry, could only think of a subject now...


meh... tried some "bed of clouds" and "veil of clouds" impressions ~~
