a TN panel 6-bit lcd monitor is a tv to most people these days...

also an ipad is potentially the best smart tv out on the market right now... Not sure about changes/improvements on ipad 2 & 3 display quality but ipad1 had reference-quality gamma and color accuracy... right outta the box!

Mind, I'm pretty sure the JMSDF still has a pretty substantial number of modern surface combatants and non nuclear submarines. I don't think you can call them completely irrelevant.

The Japanese Maritime Self-Defence Force is bloody formidable, even better than that of the US, in one thing : ASW (Anti-Submarine Warfare). It will only be a matter of time before they invent railgun torpedoes.

London Metropolitan University students fear deportation

I feel sorry for the students. One day their just studying like normal until it's suddenly announced: "Your university's license to recruit foreign students has be revoked, please apply to another university or be deported".

That's kind of evil... I should think they should give those students a hand in transferring at least.

I actually remember reading this political/thriller manga from the 90's YEARS ago, dealing with a Sino/American conflict that Japan was neutral from (the threat of Chinese Nuclear attack compelled the standing Japanese Prime Minister to cancel The Japanese/America security treaty).

One thing Japan DID do is they helped the US Navy take out the Chinese submarine force by relaying information on where they were hiding, allowing the US Navy to take them out, and the Americans overall being pretty impressed by the information the Japanese were able to provide.

Where did you get this information from?

(Though I think shooting a railgun underwater would just result in your shell getting torn apart 100 meters from your ship ^^; )

I would also think so, unless the projectile also use/make some kind of supercavitation effect.

I understand that it's toxic and is fatal, but I may see the grim day when cigarettes will be sold in the black market, that electronic vapes will be prevalent, and smoking is considered a felony in the same category as illegal drugs or firearms possession.
