Looking for a light, anime.
Hey guys. im looking for a laid back, fun, slice of life anime with comedy and maybe small bits or hints of romance and drama.
Preferably something that involves a small group of friends in a school setting who do stuff together in a club or something. Similar to genshiken, haruhi and lucky star, though i also enjoyed midori days and school rumble. Thanks. |

I suppose you could try Eyeshield 21 or something... it's the football club, so it's focused a lot on sports rather than your typical "slice of life"
Essentially the plot is that the title character has so much experience running and dodging bullies that he is able to become the star runner in his highschool football club |

Here's another vote for Hidamari Sketch, a "cute-girls-go-to-art-school" show done in the SHAFT/Shinbo style. It's a more recent version of Azumanga Daioh. There's also a new series with a similar setting called GA - Geijutsuka Art Design Class. This is a rather different type of show -- more hectic, and more didactic as it talks about techniques for making art.
BTW, I don't see how one can say Azumanga Daioh is "exactly like" School Rumble when the former doesn't have any boys in the story. There's no (heterosexual) romance in AzuDai nor in Hidamari Sketch. The only male in HS is the bald prinicpal; otherwise it's girl power all the way. I like Welcome to the NHK! quite a bit, but it's much darker than the shows I thiink you're looking for.
