Not just the Aces. The Strikers are certainly more endearing now that they look older as well.
If I could put my finger on it, the rest of the art also reflects that. The cast progressing on from their past and making good of their present selves and relationships is very encouraging. Got to say it's definitely one of the factors that hooks me to the series.

I would love to see a 4th season with this current timeline. It seems like all the characters have grown and coming into their own. I hope Nanoha is all right after using blaster mode, was there ever a update on her health?
