I have to say, I've got attached to poor Mrs Ushiromiya from putting these together, but she's only going to show up very very briefly in my game anyway. If anybody ever wants to snag the sprites and use them for something where she gets a role, please feel free to go ahead. Originally I was just going to include her as a silhouette with a question mark on her face, but I ended up making a bunch of sprites.
Hey, Kinjo, I was wondering if you could clear something up for me regarding Fan-EP2. I really didn't follow the arguments properly the first time I read it, so I didn't understand some of the solutions. However, having read the tea party again and followed it more closely, I can't help but be confused about the mystery of Hideyoshi's murder.

Firstly, am I correct in understanding that the two rooms are opposite each other, and that Natsuhi shot through her open window and Eva's closed window, killing George and then Hideyoshi? If this is the case, then the window should be broken by Natsuhi's shot. And yet it says that AFTER George was shot, he fell out of the window, breaking it, which implies that the window was not broken at that time. I don't see how that can make sense, because the shot must have already broken the window in order to reach George.
Secondly, if the window was broken, shouldn't Kinzo and the others have noticed this when investigating the scene? Yet it said when they found the scene that the window was locked, making it a closed room, with no mention of it being broken. And furthermore, shouldn't they have looked out of the window and seen George's corpse lying on the ground?
Now the next part is what really confuses me. Natsuhi sets the chain and hides in the closet, I get that. But it says that after Kinzo left, she left the room and unset the chain. It's unclear whether this refers to Kinzo leaving to get the cutters, or leaving after he had gotten the cutters and entered the room again. If it's the former, then it doesn't make sense because Kinzo should have found the chain unset when he arrived back at the room. And there is a red that says that between the time Kinzo first arrived at the door and the time one second before he entered, nobody entered or exited the room. If it's the latter, it doesn't make sense that Natsuhi would have had to 'unset the chain' to leave, since Kinzo had already cut it. Not only that, but there is a red that Just before Kinzo, Battler, Maria, and Natsuhi entered, Hideyoshi's body was the only body inside. Now this is an odd red since Natsuhi wasn't actually with the group that went to investigate the room. Is this some kind of wordplay, like it means 'before any of the four entered, there was no other body in the room, but after Natsuhi entered and before Battler, Maria, and Kinzo entered, there was another body in the room'? Yes, the two rooms are opposite each other; Natsuhi's window was open and Eva's was closed. The window was only partially broken (i.e. enough for the shotgun shells to get through) when Natsuhi killed Hideyoshi and George. Once George's body fell through the window, it "broke" completely.
That said, it does contradict the narration given in Chapter 10 (as well as a red I found concerning that fact that there is only one window, when in the narration it mentions 'windows'). I was being intentionally vague at the time during the gameboard, and during the teaparty session did my best to stretch out the solution for as long as possible. Hence the very wordplay-ish "only body inside" red; that almost became a fatal logic error.
In order to resolve it, the wordplay relied on the fact that "the others" was not clearly defined in the blue truth. I used it to include Natsuhi, although I was informed later that this is technically not possible in the English language since they were not really in the same group (Kinzo and the others = Kinzo and Battler+Maria, as they were with him, not Natsuhi). Considering it was one of the first blues brought up to fight that mystery, I wanted to counter it without losing face, so I thought that bit of wordplay would do the trick.
Sadly I think if you're looking for an in-gameboard explanation, you won't find one; it was mostly meta-motives and strategy that forced me to make sloppy inconsistencies in writing. The teaparty sections were written on the spot, and hence I had to quickly come up with red that would deny theories and not completely ruin my planned solution. These debates were left perfectly intact when transcribed into visual novel format, as I refused to fix (or go back on) any mistakes I made. That may be one of the biggest drawbacks of my second fangame: I sacrificed writing quality for difficulty level, intentionally creating both unreliable first-person narration (Impostor Battler) and vague third-person narration (i.e. Natsuhi's and Eva's rooms) to try and make incredibly challenging closed rooms for /seacats/ to solve.
This may or may not have become clear after reading Board of the Golden Witch, as I tried to stress there was a lot of metagaming and wordplay involved in all /seacats/ gameboards.
I see...I'm still curious about the line during Natsuhi's confession that says that she 'unset the chain' after Kinzo and the others had left. I suppose this was just a slip-up, since the chain was definitely cut at that time.
Anyway, it's a shame that the solution is that vague since I thought that all the others were actually quite believable. But your work is still very impressive on the whole. It would probably seem like less of a flaw if the discussion about said closed room didn't go on for so long, which really makes one hyped for the answer.
Cutting the chain is functionally identical to unsetting it.
Also, in fairness to Kinjo, here, the actual red/blue arguments in the tea parties were actual forum discussions revolving around solving it that he just adapted into a narrative, which is why it went on for so long.

The Legend of Beatrice started up because people saw her around at night and pretended she was Beatrice's Ghost just to spite her with the concept of Kinzo's mistress.
Renall: Short forgeries I would really like to write:
1) The one where Erika is a normal girl and the Ushiromiyas are a creepy cultlike family dedicated to their unseen Father.
2) A collector in the semi-future (like 2050) buys Eva's Diary, learns the Truth of Rokkenjima, digs deeper and discovers that the entire thing was a forgery perpetrated by eccentric writers the Hachijous, and there never was a Rokkenjima or Ushiromiya family.
So he knows the Truth of an event that doesn't exist, but WHAT WAS THE DIARY?

The police wouldn't comment on an event that didn't happen.

And it should be, like, super clear that he is 100% certain this is the Truth according to the parameters of the stories.
That reading the diary is an absolutely convincing answer that MUST be true.

Then they come back in the early 2000s looking for Battler and Ange who have fallen off the map.

Renall: And she discovers to her terror that she is the "Witch" and this whole thing was a fucked-up devotion to an already-dead patriarch.
auratwilight: Yasu's the cult leader chosen by "Father". No one calls Shkanon because it's part of the religion.
Renall: They were killing themselves because they believe Erika is the Witch to be revived.
auratwilight: Erika comments on some weird tells but everyone treats her like she's mad.
Renall: And Erika finally stumbles upon Yasu and Kinzo's corpse in the study.
auratwilight: "How come the those two won't be in the same room together?" "You ask a lot of questions. ^_^"
Renall: And she's like half-dressed as Beatrice
And utterly insane
And she blows her own head off going "NONE SHALL BE ALIVE!"
auratwilight: Maria's "training" is to coach her to be the next cult leader.

Renall: And Erika kind of collapses in terror and the next morning she wakes up and it's a bit like the ep4 TP and then she goes and solves the epitaph realizing it was actually Kinzo's bequest and she wonders what the fuck was wrong with that family.
auratwilight: To parallel how George is always so sinister, maybe he's the most normal one and his conscience has him try to warn Erika before he's killed off.
Renall: Oh and the "Key" is interpreted to be some action Erika takes that unwittingly selects the first six sacrifices.
And she realizes they're killing according to what they THINK she intends them to do.
auratwilight: Like the first six she talks to or something
Renall: Or better
To parallel ep8
She's asked to serve the cake at dessert
And the first six people served
Are the sacrifices
auratwilight: or there's six walnuts
and whoever she hands those pieces to.
Why is Ange left at home?
Renall: Erika doesn't know.
They mention an "Ange" who isn't there

Renall: And she thinks that's really weird.
So maybe at the end she resolves to find out
auratwilight: "You left a sick six year old at home without her parents or anything?"

They're doing Faith Healing
Renall: They think her sickness would disturb them.
So they just ditch her.
auratwilight: At the end, Erika finds her, saves her life from death by neglect, and then Eva shoots Erika dead.
Ange is so traumatized she represses the memory, but always feels really uncomfortable malice from Eva that's not aimed at her.
"Did you...kill my family?" "No, honey."
The end has Eva see that Ange is still wearing Battler's hairpins, which is some other cult thing, and then she laughs, hands over the ring, and dies.
Renall: Also this would actually work as an official spinoff but something like a 1920s version of the earthquake scenario that killed most of the family.
auratwilight: I would really dig that 1920's thing
Renall: With a bunch of really weird parallels
auratwilight: Have a servant girl who really liked Kinzo and never admitted it and shit

Renall: But maybe have her discuss whether things are predestined and have that flatly rejected as their discussion turns, suggesting that "even if the same thing were to happen a dozen times, it's not fate and it's not a curse. Only people's choices could lead them where they end up."

auratwilight: "But....if people make their choices based on what came before, isn't that still predestination?"

Renall: "Believing that nothing could change is to deny that God permits a miracle."
auratwilight: "But does that mean we can only live on God's grace alone?" The nun then laughs, "That'd be true even outside of this predestination talk, sir."
And then she tries to steer it into a religious thing and everyone tunes out...
