Scanlators finally ditched the stupid untranslated "Dou Zhe" terminology for actually understandable "Dou Grandmaster".
Now all that's left is to switch all those "Xian" and "Huan" for proper "C" and "D".

Adding to the burn is that her mentor/sifu (Yun Yun) falls for him and there's some reprocication.

One scene literally had her watching the two of them kissing - and maybe more, not sure tho.

I only read the manga.. and not planning to start reading the novels, but I've got a question. It was asked before but it was left unanswered (or I've missed it).

What was MC's (I'm presuming MC is Xiao Yan, but what does MC stands for?) rank at the end of the novel?

And... I noticed someone mentioned the title of the final chapter is "The End is Also The Beginning" for a new novel where Xiao Yan is ALSO the main character. Can I, by any chance, have the name of novel? Is it WDQK or DDZ?

lol I remember when I was new. MC stands for Main Character. A lot of threads will just refer to the main character as MC instead of their names.

He is not the protagonist of the sequel, which is named 大主宰 (Da Zhu Zai: Lord of All). He's a major character, though, as is the protagonist of the author's other series. Also, the point of this series and the ending of DPCQ is that Dou Di is not the highest rank attainable; instead, it basically serves as the gateway to ascension (much the way 神域 [divinity] ranks work in other series).

That is the sequel. There isn't a sequel where he's still the protagonist.

DZZ is the sequel in the sense that the events in that novel occur after Battle Through the Heaven. The MC in that series is completely unrelated to the characters in Battle Through the Heaven. As a matter of fact, DZZ occurs in a upper over world. DZZ has a completely different ranking system and it's unclear how it correlates with the ranking system within Battle Through the Heaven. The ranking system within BTTH relatively easy to understand as there are certain abilities related to each level.

There were some alterations, but it holds up. I would argue that the manhua version actually does it even better. In the novel, the Misty Cloud Sect simply tries to capture him based on that fact that Xiao Yan killed the Mo Family Leader. The elder tries to rally support by stating that Mo Family is a division within the Sect and that if they don't take any actions, it would harm the sect's honor and dignity. As BS as it sounds, it's really just an excuse to punish Xiao Yan for defeating Naran- the future leader of the sect.

In the manhua version, the sect tries to demonize Xiao Yan. Like the LN version, Xiao Yan knows it's pointless to argue.

It's a staple of the genre, actually. Stuff like this happens all the time in the old Kung Fu movies. Having people slander your name is a big thing and of course, one wants to do everything they can to correct it, however, he's up against a very influential sect who also have vast resources. Even if he told his side of things, they could have done any number of things to ensure that their 'testimony' is the correct one.

The Yun Lan Sect would have denied that they had anything to do with the Mo Family and/or asked him to call witnesses to it, which would have involved his brothers and their mercenary band. Yun Lan Sect would have just refused their testimony because 1) they are his brothers, and 2) they are just lowly mercenaries - why would the esteemed Yun Lan Sect bother with them in the first place?

Even if he asked Na Lan Yan to remember the night at the Mo Family mansion in Salt City, the little girl with the snake eyes isn't there to provide testimony and Lan Yan only remembers so much of that night. The Mo Family was plotting against the Yun Lan Sect itself - why would the Mo Family use the Yun Lan members to do their bidding when they 'don't have the authority' to do so? (Which is part of what this Elder is covering up, it seems).

And mentioning 'Yun Zhi' (the white haired girl's name) would either throw them for a fit, or just confuse them as some of them probably don't even know the Yun Lan leader's real name.

Also, he can't deny the 'theft' of the Essence to the Pill King without revealing his master to him. To solve this easily, he'd need Yun Zhi to show up but that's not gonna happen.

I guess, but the current issue is going to take a while to resolve. There are going to be a few twist and turns. What was originally a three year agreement pretty much explodes in everyone's face. The current chapters constitute the first climax in the whole series. There are about nine or ten climaxes in the whole series.
