hmm...I listen to various amounts of music...as long as it isn't country (blue grass, whatever...), gospel, or heavy metal...

Some Rap/Hip Hop that I like...

Busta Rhymes
DMX
Eminem
Lil Jon
Juvenile
Lil Wayne
Ludacris
TI

While I can't say the same for the current stuff Em is putting out, I'm actually quite fond of Eminem's older works, much much older. Back in the days of his Infinite LP and to an extent his Slim Shady LP, when he was more clever with his rhymes and purely rap oriented.

The only trace amounts I've seen of his old days as of late were on the 8 Mile soundtrack, and even then it sounded somewhat watered down.

lol @ Sadijah, you do keystyles eh? We oughta start a text freestyling thread somewhere in this forum just for the fun of it.

I used to do a lot of text freestyling, but as of late I've been taking my first few steps into the audio world.

At the risk of advertising, I'm very fond of Sadijah's work. I can't list the sites here, but if you search her name in a few choice search engines, you'll see her name pop up in multiple sites. It makes me want to rap, but I'm an analyst. I only like to observe.

You should consider text rap. Even if it's for fun, with me as your trainer, you'll give a good number a run for their money. Especially them nerds in GSCCC. Them f*****s wouldn't know rap/hip hop if they played the video games dedicated to it.

I used to listen to Rap, but now...sadly...Rap is dying...

I don't really listen to Rap much anymore because almost every new song I've heard just fails in comparison to what I've already heard.

Actually, I used to do text battles back in the day. But now I've moved on to face to face freestyle battles. Meh, I've had my fair share of devouring text emcees.

I'm considering trying out for Scribble Jam again, if anything just to get some experience. I've been in well over 50 street battles by now.

But heh, here's a little something random for the masses:

What I drop you must've felt it, you whack emcees get dealt with
Not a legend in my own mind, but I am in everybody else's
Ahead of my time, I've done that and been there
Only thing between me and first place is thin air
So you better hide if you try to diss my sh*t
I won't kill you, but I'll make you wish I did
Your whole style is sloppy and if you try to stop me
You'll be taking more shots than paparazzis
Ever since I started, I've been on a different level
I'll make your sticks and stones look like twigs and pebbles
So my haters can keep on talking
Cause when I grab the mic and unleash the concepts
I'll play it like a "Microphone Fiend" and Rakim (rock em)

Haha, I love the number of ignorant trolls in this thread.

People listen to MTV rap and complain "OMG, rap is so bad! Rap is dead!"

Yeesh. That's like watching Dragon Ball Z to formulate your entire opinion on anime.

Haha, true.
I'm a big fan of Rap, click the last.fm pic in my sig for the artists I listen to the most (while I'm at my computer, anyway). These days I listen to mostly underground/indie rap (Canibus, Sage Francis, Tonedeff, etc) but I like older stuff like Kool G Rap and Rakim, too.

Rap is dead. Underground Hip-Hop is alive and strong. If you're tired of that crap (imo) on the radio try listening to some people like:

Jedi Mind Tricks
K-OS
Wu Tang Clan
Papoose
The Roots

That's all I can think of for now.
