^ hah, way to start a new page!

Glad I decided to stick with this one. I was a bit skeptical at first since the first few episodes didn't do much to keep me glued to the screen, but right now I'm loving the story and its characters.

Good that Alibaba finally grew a pair... too bad he decided to do so while his #1 fan is sound asleep.

Looks like Kassim is about to ruin everything...

Really nice episode, Alibaba stood really well.

I finally start to understand love for Kougyoku. Looks like she is more than just tsundere and can control herself when needed. That's a big plus.

Yeah, I have to say she's grown on me a little the past few episodes. Certainly a challenge to beat that first impression of blowing way Ugo though...Nice to see that she can keep herself under control. Understandable as well that she wasn't key on just being some political piece to marry off.

Just started watching this yesterday knowing nothing to expect and just finished catching up. I've got to say that at first I was rather taken aback at how loosely they based its settings to the irl counterpart (though I guess that's a common symptom in Japanese anime), but the engaging story line and very like-able characters more than made up for it.

But then, the story started to adopt a shounen battle story line (stronger enemies keep appearing one after another, power ups). Nothing really wrong with that, and maybe that was what the author planned to do in the first place, but I really liked the original "feel" in the story. It felt like I was watching the ancient epic fairy tales in the making, something of a delight for an enthusiast of fairy tales like me.

Like I said, I watched this knowing nothing to expect. I started to develop some expectations as I continue watching, and felt slightly disappointed that it wasn't met fully like I expected. But overall, I still enjoy this. I have genuinely grown fond of the cast and is curious of how they will end up, so I will continue watching this, even if just for that.

True, the original large scope found in the manga is a bit lost when translated to animation due to lack of room for info-dumping but it should be made up for somewhat in later eps.

Wow, the episode really turned everything around. I think the black rukh had more to do with the people going crazy than Kassim's speech.

So now we finally found out who Ugo's master is... King Soloman. I guess that means that as a magi, they don't have their own genies then? Since Judal did not have his own genie, I guess Aladdin is a unique case. Only king candidates have their own genies so far, when I think about it.

So what is a magi then? Is it a being created from rukh? Are they equivalent to a genie, or are they superior?

Also, I can't wait to have Aladdin back. They did state that he will be reborn, so I wonder what his new status will be like.

Oh damn, it's on now Thanks to Kassim, everything has gone to Hell in a heartbeat.

If the fight with the Kou Empire's freak shows felt slightly less than climatic, this final boss battle is going to make up for it in spades

Calling it now- Two more episodes till conclusion

People who conquered the dungeon and are selected by the Djinn.

Aladdin isn't the master of Ugo, he is his friend

Well, as the manga stated early: Magis are magicians of creation, they're loved by the Rukh and they're able to create Djinn. So of course, they're far more superior than a Djinn. Their purpose is choosing a king that can lead gois ( normal people ) to a better life. Each magi have completed freedom in choosing his/her King candidate ( Beside the sufficient magoi's requirement ). There's still some more but right now, they're considered spoilers for anime.

I don't think so. The manga says nothing about that. In fact, it's more likely they were created by king Salomon.

They don't create Djinns, they manifest them......

Well, I think you missed some part of the manga ^^. Right now, I'm too busy to go through the manga for that page's reference so I will just quote a line from Magi's wikia for this:

http://magi.wikia.com/wiki/Djinn

Djinn, pronounced Jin, are artificial life created from Rukh. Originally they could only be created from magicians who are loved by Rukh or Magi

Spoiler for Djinn Creation - Shouldn't Read it until Aladdin is back in next episode!!!:

Thank you for your explainations, but you are heading into spoiler territory. Maybe you can adjust your explainations to exclude things that the anime might bring up in the following weeks?

Woah, I just did some reading on King Solomon, and he had 700 wives and 300 concubines. I doubt they will include that fact in the story, but it was interesting to know.

I'm just looking forward to having Aladdin back. He has been out of the picture for far too long.

Quite the opposite for me- I'll be surprised if they didn't include it

Yeah, just look at Sindbad in the anime's 2nd opening. And Alibaba have Elizabeth - the most popular hostess! I think owning a Djinn reallyl boost your charm up.

from the banner of your wiki reference link and since you've read the manga, you should know what is Djinn and how they were made...

kinda spoiler-ish if we were talk into detail here and it won't be that long before it appears in the anime

and since you mentioned about djinn creation with pictures as well

I will just say no because

Spoiler for manga ref:

Alibaba dreams of a Republic.
I doubt it will be as easy as he thinks.
Even Kassim was surprised by the whole Republic thing.
Kassim may have rained on his parade, but he also did make a good point.
Ugo's explanation of dark Magi was interesting.
Aladdin was going through his own rebirth.
So was Kassim who totally crossed over to the dark side.
