It's often the most open perverts who are the more shy.

I guess both of them are at that stage where they're beyond mere friendship but still just a step away from full courtship =3

Except that he says he likes looking up women's skirts when they go up ladders and whatnot, and that it's important for the ladies whom he worked with to call him "senpai" ... he's just not good with strong/overbearing women.

On another note, WWB chapter 23 is out on Nicovideo (AKA, in Japanese).

No, that's not quite it. He really just feels awkward when someone showers him with open expressions of affection (like Marielle-glomps and Tetra-pesterings ). Deep down, I would say that Naotsugu is still a rather traditional guy =3

That was fast update.

So Shiroe is aware of the 3rd party but he doesn't know them yet.

Kanami should hurry up with her stroll in china and help the idiot.

Shiroe realize how much of a coward he is for guarding his secret towards Kinjou who he is asking help for. How can you help someone if you can't trust them and hiding secret from someone your asking help with isn't helping.

Yeah all of these hints do point to Kanami reaching Akiba to help Shiroe. xD

But it is something else for 10 of thousands of Japanese to experience this, that's just stupid. Also, Shiroe and the rest are not wearing any special equipment.

There must be a better explanation for this.

LOL Mamare joining the SAO sniping?

Why join that hellhole lawlz.

Though SAO wasn't the only one who did the VR headset going awry route. .Hack and Yureka did these things around the same time heh.

No, I think he is just answering the VR theory crowd in his own way. Those have been very vocal about their opinion in the early days of the airing of LogHora anime. To the point of being very pushy about it, refuting and dismissing anyone telling them otherwise.

Unlikely seeing as I recall Mamare stating he enjoyed both SAO and .hack. That's most likely a combination of shaky translation, and Mamare dismissing the possibility of them being in normal VR as the technology doesn't exist in their world, and none of them were using anything like that, so to get tends of thousands of people hooked up to VR machines is absurd. It's something that should have been discussed and dismissed by the characters back in volume 1, but better late than never I suppose.

Well...SAO technology is arcane enough to the point we will have FTL drive first before getting that VR headset. 2023 is way too soon. BTW anyone watch "Surrogates"? The one with Bruce Willis.

VR headset is today technology but VR headset that can tinkering with nerve signal without nerve socket like those in "THE MATRIX" isn't.

Ghost in the Shell universe have SAO like VR environtment but it require cyberbrain, nerve socket or other cyborg stuff.

VR headsets exist in the real world of Log Horizon, but Shiroe just states that they were still testing/developing it, and for hundreds of thousands of players to *suddenly* have VR headsets stuck on them without warning would be illogical.

[Edit]

Reread the raid battle/chapter 5 of volume 6. Man, all that foreshadowing/hints in that exchange between Henrietta and Kinjo, such as the animosity between him and Shiroe, and the fact that Minami was partially to blame for the incident. Kinjo also suggests that the Kunie clan in the west is, in fact, a different one (I doubt he would use the words he did if he was familiar with Minami).

Also, as I had been suspecting, he's aware of what's going on elsewhere in the world. Perhaps he is tied to the kind of people Roe2 is one of? Maybe he knows about the Genius monsters as well, but is unwilling to tell anything.

We don't have VR headsets but so far we have devices that send eletromagnetic pulses directly into the brain, which scientist and medics use for research. These aren't implanted but are like a handheld wands which depending on the place of the brain targeted can cause different effects, from making you move parts of your body to changing momentarily how you think or act. On the other hand stuff like directly reading from the brain what someone is seen has been shown to be possible too.

Maybe 9 years is too soon for a VR headset but maybe 30-50 years from now isn't too far fetched.
