86 Translated NU NU Description Year 2140, the world is full of superpowers. Those who can create fire. Those who can create water. Those who use supernatural power. Those who use sorcery. And the only one without powers Originally, he should be weak. But somehow, he is—-considerably strong. Quote:
Of Course Is there SnuSnu? No, though the girls definitely try. Is he OP? Oh yes, but you really don't understand HOW OP until 85. Why I read it I like the format, each chapter doesn't drag, and you learn a little more with every 5 chapters PT Iwato Powers - Love of Shampoo, incredibly strong body, SSS fighting skills. (Note not a superpower Spoiler for What is his superpower?:

In other words, he's being passive about it, which makes him an asshole
Problem with Japanese OP MCs is they are not doing enough despite their OP powers, yet they don't consider themselves to be asshole, in fact considering themselves to be kind, and with their "Yasashii"-ness making girls love them. Disgusting.

I said, if you are not using the power for the greater good, then you must realize that you are an asshole I like assholes. I prefer asshole MC even. They DON'T need to save the world But the point is he must be aware that he's "not a good guy" And that is totally fine Most OP MCs think they are good guys, such as Satoo, they are not

So it's either asshole or good person? Nothing in between? My image of asshole is people whom do wrong/bad things. Demanding them to spend all of their time and efforts for people ... what is this, Kouki?
And no, you are wrong. Satou did save the country and world multiple times. That doesn't count as good? Which mc is a good person then ..

He stands out as Superman. Not Clark Kent. Bakayarou.
Hiding true identity and holding back on your power and world saving just because don't want to be popular is different. His puts Superman before Clark Kent. His normal identity never stopped him on saving the world. Satoo and this novel's MC prioritize their normal lives. They are assholes who sometimes does good things.

Not being a self-sacrificing retarded doesn't make you an asshole. The phrase of "with great power comes great responsibility" has more to do with not using your powers to do wrong than actually playing the super hero.
No human being has the responsibility of sacrificing themselves for the sake of others just because they are a cut above people. That's just selfishness and "assholeness" of the weak. MC would only fall under the asshole category in case he were to refuse helping people in need even if they were right in front of him. But calling a person an asshole just because they don't want to go out there to suffer for the sake of unknown people is beyond dumb. Don't mistake kindness with selflessness. PS: No idea how the MC of this story is, didn't start reading it yet.

^Of course it depends on the OP-ness too
Limited OP-ness like Suimei would be hard to save the world But this MC and Sugar who can save 1000 people with just a blink of an eye does nothing but sampling shampoo and food Either you actively help people, or admit that you are an asshole, choose

I personally think that the moment he appear with a cape and wearing a red tight over blue body suit, he is standing out enough
Despite that point of view, don't really agree with Erotora view, only partial, you don't necessarily a good person, but that don't make you an asshole. Please, the whole " with great power come great responsibility" is debated and sinked to death many times already. What is power, money ??? so if you are rich by actually have to work hard for it, you have to spend it for the populace ???? nah, they can choose to, but ultimately it is still their hard work, responsibility be unrelated. The world is both unfair and being fair in a strange way. One can born richer than other, but at the same time they all can die. Actively help people with your power is 1 choice, shrug and look from outside is another, enjoy your power for dominance is 1 way as well. Someone who look from outside might not be the saint, but if you call them asshole then it's stupid. |

Actually OP is a 'hero' his aura covers the entire city and prevents monsters from showing up.
currently there are only two kinds of monsters that are showing up. 1) The ones who think they are strong and can beat the 'King of Black Coffin' 2) The ones who are being smuggled in by bad guys. The I like the current 'Past' arc which is explaining why he saved his sister (after killing her father? oh dear)

Also, this concept holds (at least partially) true only if the power is gained from the people. Noble is not much more powerful than his subjects, but because they obey him he becomes powerful and so he should take care of them in return. On the other hand being born smart, strong or especially in the case of superpowers you gained nothing from the other people, so they have no right to be getting anything "in return" (except for the parents maybe). Btw. my view is, that the guy, that kicks you once more while you are down is an asshole, the guy that just looks from afar and does nothing himself (might call help in modern society) is neutral and the one that goes out of his way and helps you is a good guy. |
