Chamille is never executed nor put in trials (that would have meant Ikta's sacrifice had no meaning, he sacrifices so that she doesn't has too, basically doing what she intended to do : to let Icta leads the empire towards a republic while being put on trials herself).
Instead she push the empire towards a republic while being very active in it, she learns dual wield from Yatori's father and becomes very good at it, wielding Yatori's dual weapons; she gets a lot of interest in new technology and actively push its development, and becomes a very active, bright, happy beautiful woman. Her and Valquie stays as best friends and have a lot of fun and satisfaction developping the country and making the life of the citizens of the former empire.
She totally stops hating herself and stop wishing for her punishment and death.
So what is left is an incredibly straight forward and incredibly talented person that change her country and guide it like a shining beacon of hope.
They do NOT spend a night together, although he kisses her on the lips and confess to her the night before his execution.

Also during the civil war there is THREE faction, and the princess and all but Yatori are all in the third, not in Remion's faction. The Remion and the third faction ends up allying in the end due to the circumstances and are the "winner" of the civil war with the princess Chamille becoming empress.
The instability is not due to the empress' rule, as Chamille is actually harsh but not a bad ruler at all. Sedition does a lot of work here, and in fact, the danger almost only comes from Haro, as she almost manage to destroy the empire by herself. If not for Ikta understanding what Haro is and how she's doing it, the Empire would have been destroyed by the Kyoka republic right here. Haro was just too good at her sabotage job.

The spoilers jump several volumes that are super important for the story but I'm not going to talk about them here.
I'm just going to add that the only person that gets married in the knights by the time they reach 30-ish is Mathew, who also has 4 lively childrens.


Despite what Yatori fans would like you to believe, here was not a lot of drop from "fans" as the sales didn't especially go down in the later volumes. Although the very last volumes didn't please everyone (I personally thought it was a satisfying and logical end to it)

What happened with haroma, matthew and torway????

They're alive and well.
Mathew is married to Polmi and has 4 children by the time he's 30-ish years old. he lives in a big estate near the coast. He's a serious candidate for being the next Marshal in the republic. By the time of the series, he had reached Ikta's level in the chess-like game they were playing and was an incredibly talented general.
The other two are still single.
Torway is a general as well and still pushing forward the research on guns and snipping. He got a crazy reputation in that field.
Haroma is a bit lower than general but I don't remember her exact rank, it's still pretty high IIRC. She's extremely active in revolutionizing the field medic's methods, ethics and tools.

"Shit" is going too far. I can see why some people will not like this kind of ending but props to the author for having the guts to not only kill off the "heroine" but also the MC. I'm not too sure how I feel about this myself since I've been a big fan of both Yatori and Ikta, but I'll hold off on commenting on it until I actually get to read the volumes myself.

heh, who would have thought that soldiers can die at war, and that some also die for massive change to happen in their country.

the moment you start reading/watching a war story, hoping for your favorite character not to die just means that you're reading/watching the wrong type of story to begin with, so the fault is... entirely yours on that one.

TBF , that was Chamille's dearest wish as well, but Ikta had a different opinion on the matter.

I'm not upset but I did kinda lose interest after a while, well before Yatori was written out of the show. I guess the tipping point was the mountain bandits arc, the empire was clearly in the wrong there but they doubled down on bad policies and made no reforms while abusing and killing people. It left a sour taste in my mouth knowing that Ikta was fighting for the bad guys and Chamille would fight tooth and nail to assure that the bad guys would win.

Granted Chamille and the empire aren't the only bad guys (and there are probably worse guys) but it did make me lose interest in the story.

I am reading Altina the Sword Princess and it is similar but too fluffy, no grimdark at all.

well i read many war stories but MC die at the end have zero chance unless it is historical event stories

I talked about LN and manga and you mention The Tragedy of Hamlet it is tragedy beside yea i consider it shitty work and like i said it is personal opinion you dont need to be agressive . people have different taste thats it you may like it others not thats it

Yes it is addressed, and this is an extremely important matter.
So important in fact, that this series' whole title (which like you know is quite long) is entirely pointing out at the hidden truth behind this. So much that a whole volume was dedicate to them, their purpose and origin. So much that it was the first topic talked about in the series, like you pointed out.

'That volume' is apparently completely unknown by peoples reading only spoilers as I've never seen anyone talking about it.
Yet, 'that volume' is a game changer in the story that influences massively anything coming afterwards, including the decisions of various characters, and the way they end.

'That volume' is also one of the major reasons I'm always rejecting peoples' saying on how the end is not satisfying and stuff, as if you haven't read this volume there is no way any opinion on this series ending can have any sort of value.
This may be infuriating for peoples who don't see why their opinion should be rejected by someone else as an opinion is, well, an opinion, but anyone who've read this volume will probably understand why it's not possible judge properly anything coming afterwards without having read this specific volume, hence why I deem them as "having no value whatsoever".

But I digress. I appreciate that someone else than me kept in mind that passage early in the novels and was wondering about it. I was the same, so the revelations coming later were both welcome and enjoyable. If you ever have the opportunity to read it in a language that you can understand, I really encourage you to read the series, you won't be disappointed when learning the truth behind the scene.

Just because the MC dies, it doesn't mean it's bad. that's too generalize. There is no point to argue with that kind of people. Japanese have a lot of LN, Manga like to kill off the MC.

also those spirits was really bugging my mind as well as those scientist talk like hell are people commenting about the shitty lack braincells to distinguish a war, fantasy setting and comedy centered one? in all likelihood that i have read. a war with mc being alive was only vanadis(anime ending) and grancrest while on the contrary most wars ive read the mc died like code geass and vampire juuji kai. Was code geass considered shitty ending when lelouch died? when akabane strauss was freed from his noblesse oblige to protect the dhampirs and human was it portrayed shitty? hell no dude

if u want to know real shit go watch hotd because We will never know the true ending of the series along with series that the author failed to finish when he was still alive.
