I just couldn't help but notice that the list for the male characters is practically dominated by Gundam 00. Regardless of what one may think of the series that's not surprising, but why is Kira even there? From 8th to 6th too! Did I miss something?

The list seems quite unpredictable with even characters like Kyon going 3rd to 10th.

Well, at least we know who the favorites of the readers are.

Because Kira and Lacus are to the Newtype polls of the first half of this decade as Lelouch and C.C are to the second half.

It always amazed me what do people see in that character. I never liked her, even in the first season. I guess the form is more appealing then the content.

It is because she's very self confident, has a nice body and also had a nice progress in the series, from turning from a spoiled actress to a wonderful woman with emotions.

I would agree that Michel is also up there and ahead of all the others, but Ozma gets the one-up on Michel due to surviving the series, especially with the pinapple curse on his back!

But Ozma did not do a lot of fighting in the last episode lol, I probably missed it because the pace was so fast, but I only saw Klan, Alto, Berea, and even Luca flying around like mad. I didn't notice Ozma's presence.

Well, Ozma is a captain right in his squad? A wise captain should always defend the most important position, which is to guard the Island 1 and stay behind XD

Ozma is squadron leader so he takes his orders from colonel wilder. as wilder took leading command of the battle in episode 25 (yes, he felt freely to coordinate the fleet) he has not reason to defend then, because the squad is an elite offensive squad. and ozma had his flights in the first episoded but got more and more into the background because of his injuries and later the investitation of the plot on macross.

Don't blame Alto, it's all Kadokawa's fault. Alto in ep25 is not the real Alto; Sheryl in ep25 is not the real Sheryl neither.

Wait, what did I say? MF has only 8 episodes, right? Ep25 is a delusion, a delusion for sure.
