The final Boss again is Roid/Lloyd with a Mind controlled Mikumo.

Messer this time is the one to take Keith's eye, also they recreate the scene of the laser going to his cockpit BUT this time he dodges it... just to be badly wounded from other attack and finally dying in Kaname's arms. (God dammit they had one job!)

Spoiler for Rough Summary of the Movie:

-Freyja is stowing away on a cargo ship on her way to Ragna to audition for Walkure
-The ship comes under the influence of Var
-Hayate is already part of Delta squad
-Freyja gets found by Var'd crewmembers, starts singing
-Hayate notices her from space
-Jumps in to save her, but gets tackled by another var'd crewmember
-Freyja's singing devars them, Hayate thanks her for saving him even though he originally intended to save her
-Freyja goes with Delta squadron to Ragna even though the Walkure auditions are over
-Becomes a team member despite not being able to replicate the fold readings from the cargo ship
-Bokura no Senjou scene is just a failure, no Hayate exam
-They just figure that she's the type that can only do the real thing
-Hayate sneaks her into his plane and they do the Rune ga Pikatto scene
-Freyja is still training with Walkure, including that tire and mud scene from the second half of the TV show
-They hold the Fukakuteisei concert, but they sing a new song instead
-The windies attack and it becomes the delta episode 1 scene with Ikenai Borderline and Hayate dancing in his VF
-Meanwhile, the Windies capture Al Shaha
-They hold the concert from the second half in order to get intel
-They go to Al Shahal and have the Hametsu no Junjou scene, activate the protoculture shit, Messer dies, Walkure gets captured, and Mirage and Hayate get shot down and stow aboard a windy ship
-Before Walkure is captured, Mikumo mindrapes the Heinz and he gets the crystallization on most of his face, becomes irrelevant for the rest of the film
-I think at this point Lloyd says something about being able to reverse the aging problem if they stop singing or whatever, Freyja tells him to pound sand
-Mikumo is mindcontrolled into the star singer
-Walkure starts singing and prisonbreaks as windies invade Ragna
-Mirage and Hayate recovers some planes (one of which is Messer's), Hayate comments on some photos in the VF of Messer smiling and Mirage gets her only lines in the entire film
-They break out, final fight starts, Freyja jumps off the Elysion like she did in the middle of Delta but starts singing Walkure wa Uragiranai
-They break Mikumo of mind control, sing ichidake
-Mikumo is recovered, shirokishi stabs Lloyd
-They have the messer sendoff and jellyfish scene
-the end
-ED is Dancing in the Moonlight

They should have scrapped the Mikumo gets kidnapped subplot if they weren't gonna develop her character properly. That whole thing sounds like an afterthought, even more so than in the tv show.

1. It's far better executed. For example, things that were never explained in TV Version got erased. In the movie, there is no Existance of Lady M or the arabic Merchant guy (forgot his name). While in the Anime TV Series the NUNS seemed more like the evil ones, in the movie the Windermereans are the evils because of Roid.
The TV Series got completely refined, only small details remind from it. Even Hayate and Freyjas dynamic is better in the movie, because Hayate is head over heels for her from the start but Freyja doesn't pay much attention to him lol. They also say that they FINALLY made Arad and Chuck competent pilots. All in all it is what the TV Series should have been.

2. Well most people say that in the movie Mirage is still a mirage, BUT: according to JP Twitter she had a epic fight with Bogue and whopped his ass. They say they did some good to her character this time, but she became completely a secondary character in the movie. They joked around and said she is still living up to her name

For the record, the JP Twitter is also full of idiots continuously complaining on how they could not go see the film for various reasons... meanwhile, I sit over here in America, brooding over the fact I'm unable to even buy a plane ticket to their country, let alone see the movie. That's not an insult or to discount their culture or economy (or jobs); however, it's also aggravating they'll tag those complaints under the movie tags...

Personally, one of my biggest concerns is a retelling of the first half would ruin everything for the film in general because of time constraints. A bit like retelling Frontier resulted in loss of the dynamic of Sheryl and Ranka outside of the final battle in the first movie. However, I don't see this in Delta's movie; if anything, it's a bit like removing all the slow/unnecessary scenes from Star Wars and skipping right to the base of the book itself. By which I mean it's one big "oh my god, what did I watch?" and in a good light, because one consistent message on JP Twitter is people gaping in awe at everything. There is no interlude in this movie, it's one wild ride, especially in the second half, and I look forward to it so bad now.

As for Mirage,... personally, I could see it coming. I mean, JP fans were split on her character growth in the TV series and role in the love triangle. So if I were Kawamori, I'd choose neither side of the opinion, write her into the background, and focus on the biggest issue people had in Delta: It's story. And to his credit, he did.
And, if it'll relieve people who dislike this decision, an unconfirmed piece I'd like to include here: No one has said there is a love confession for either girl in the movie, in fact, it's implied there is no resolution on the triangle. So... it's a reverse Frontier situation, I guess.

The only big story-related question I'd like to float around for spoilers on: Is there a solution to the Windermere aging epidemic in the movie or is it again thrown to the side?

The single for the movie is coming on February 14. Personally, I only like the song from the trailer but I'll give it a listen once it's available. There are no signs of a full soundtrack release for the movie so I'll guess they decided to reuse all music from the TV series...

So from what I gathered through different non-English sources, I have come to the conclusion that this entire gig is the same bullshit, arranged differently in the toilet.

And Mirage is still ruined.

Tbh one of the things I cared for most and really wanted in the movie was a lifespan fix but I've seen no mention of that yet on any spoilers so I'm a bit disappointed.

However I saw someone saying that there was an interview special with Kawamori and some of the girls. Kawamori said he had wanted to make a Delta movie but he wasn't really inspired to do it until the second live. And also that he would like to make a new Delta work.

Personally I hope he does, more Freyja is always a plus on my book and Walkure itself seems to be very popular in Japan.

The most major point for me, that Mikumo is still a clone of star singer, wasn’t dropped makes me want to watch the movie even less. Completely destroyed her character. In Mirages case at least I didn’t hold any expectations so I wasn’t disappointed. Damn it Messer, why?! Just why?!

I heard Roid the one who is warmonger and push the war. The Aerial Knight started to suspicious on Roid intention and eventually join with Delta squadron to stop Roid during final battle movie.

By the way I read most of the review and most of them says Delta movie are way better. Don't let 1 fan review or rumor which you cannot 100% trust from 4chan stopping you watching movie or pre-judge movie before you even watching.

Also I heard movie fix most of the flaw of the series and rumor says its one of the best macros movie.

The series was shit. I assume the movie will be a great visual spectacle, but it does not seem to address the underlying problems the series had, outside of excising some of the extraneous stuff.
