That's a pretty sleazy thing for Pfizer to say, as if they developed the vaccine out of the kindness of their hearts.
They had to funds to develop it, because there was a promise by governments to purchase hundreds of millions of doses. The private sector would not be capable of mass vaccination programs.

It could be corporate PR
Lots of people don't want to be associated with Operation Warp Speed because of fears that vaccine development will be rushed. Of course that also means alienating the Trump base, but maybe Pzifer decided that audience overlaps too much with the antivaxx crowd, anyway. //

Interesting that you went after them trying to keep facts as facts, while ignoring Trump and Pence trying to take credit for it though. |

Trump is probably banking on “curing COVID” as an achievement should he run again for president in 2024. He loses that if there is no vaccine available before he leaves office.
He’s already complained that they held back the announcement until after the election to hurt his chances despite the fact this isn’t his achievement as they are independent of the government in their research.

The advantage with lying is that he can claim to have cured Covid even if it's still raging in 2024. |

I did watch a video about than they (or another groups of that kind) did some work on the US even before the Pandemic, helping community than couldn't afford treatment. As the infrastructure, let's not forget than it has been build primary for profit in mind, more than for care; it isn't hard to imagine how the US system is ill equip to deal with the epidemic.

A long but a highly informative video with updated knowledge about the virus. - He talks about how difficult it will be in real life conditions to get the vaccine out to most parts of the world, how the vaccine won't be some magic bullet that will give you 100% protection. - How masks will still be needed for years and years to come. - The need for booster vaccines and the importance of finding the right dosage which could be effective for years. - The cost factor of the vaccines depending on the nation. - How difficult it might be to get adults vaccinated unlike kids. - Doesn't expect to have enough doses to vaccinate the world till at least 2023 or even 2024. The importance of masks, social distancing and possibility of re-infection. - Briefly touches on the subject of mutation with the cases of minks spreading the virus in Denmark and parts of Netherlands. - Possibility of the vaccine being used as a political tool to bully small, weaker or desperate countries for solutions into deals for future leverage. - Underfunding or momentary freezing of other programs of other serious diseases due to Covid-19. - Sending the message of that we're really not safe and that we need to recommit to a global response for the virus. Getting used to living with masks and social distancing and that returning to any kind of normalcy pre-Covid will take years and in bits, not all at once. The need to talk about the risks and benefits truthfully and honesty being the way to make people believe that we are sincere.

The human body is resourceful. It will eventually adapt and learn to resist COVID. However that will take many years and multiple exposures. If anti Vaxxers would just get over themselves, it could eventually be eliminated but that is unlikely to ever happen

Just a friendly reminder, yes, you can get covid and dengue at the same time, we already same some cases where I live. Probably not a problem up north where mosquitos are unheard of, but on warmer parts it is a problem.

Of course Trump is trying to hammer home that the modern a vaccine was done under his watch. I will admit that this was done under operation warp speed unlike Pfizer but you would think trump was the one who created it
