Some episode one pre-air report from the twitter, overall the reviews seem pretty positive.

The background is beautiful and have a Ghibli feel to it
A lots of reviewers comment that the OST and SE sound really great
Episode one is comfy and "heartful "
Episode one covers chapters 1-3
The naked hanging scene isn't directly shown
Episode one end with an explanation of the abyss
The OP and ED visual wasn't shown but the ED sounds cute

Misc:
Volume 6 release on 7/31
Endcards will be drawn by authors from Takeshobo
Tsukushi is a beard dude wearing samue

Episode 1:

This was interesting. Been reading the manga and I love the atmosphere of its world setting so far. The theme songs fits too for this show imo.

From the beginning, we see Riko encountering a monster but she manages to survive despite a few close calls. Character interaction is fun to watch and pretty much introduced the main premise/story from the first episode. OST works as well. Definitely liked what I see so far.

We'll get to see these kids explore more soon so I'm excited for that.
The theme songs are also well made.

I was pretty ok with the utter lack of legal consequences of sending kids down into a dangerous pit to gather relics when I thought this was some kind of post-apocalyptic world. But no, apparently people just found a pit, built a city and no one cares what orphanages do with their children .

Regardless it was a pretty solid first episode. Riko is a good lead character with plenty of energy. The OST is good and adds to the atmosphere. And certainly curious to find out along with the cast where Reg came from and why he was made that way.

That world really needs some form of child protection services. They should be all over that orphanage that is sending kids into a giant pit full of monsters.

I take it that space is limited due to the crater and that vertical utilization of space has more efficiency than horizontal utilization.

Looks great, interesting setting, and pretty good characters. Yeah, I'll probably like this one. Oh, and some good music helps too, of course.

Vibe for me is Hunter X Hunter crossed with Ghibli (art director Masuyama is indeed a Ghibli guy). And that's every bit as intriguing as it sounds.
