So the Crowleys are turning themselves into monsters, based off the first two parts of ch1. I was a bit confused by them being dragons and such in the prologue but it makes sense now.

That being said, his total lack of concern for Hamazura just makes me think that he only brought him along so he had one less person to worry about wanting to kill him

Touma has punched Aleister twice. Once for hurting his friend/being illusioned and the second time for being a sexual predator.

Cause back then, toward the end of that volume she found about Touma in WW3 on TV and head toward him at the end of the Novel

And in vol 21 OT, she still doesn't meet him...... but help him out from the side lines....feel like Kamachi is going to do that!

PS: agree with me on this point. You think were gonna have something similar in 22NT where touma in a desperate situation and misaka save him at the last minute and has to make a choice between the world or going with her.

It seem well get a 2nd version of that and see what choice he'll make this time (from that event from OT22 of the plane rescue, still cant believe it been that long)

Remember, that at the beginning of New Testament (NT2 to be more precise) she clearly states that this time she was not going to let him go alone.

The more I read about the Crowley Hazards, the more I imagine them as the Hyakki Yagyou. Funny thing, out of the many possibilities of Aleister, there's no more than one that could be reasoned with (or at least talked to amicably).

Perhaps there are some Aleisters who decided not to be involved with the war and instead settled down in some peaceful corner of the planet, away from the chaos...

I assume that isn't possible, because all Aleister Crowleys equally wish to destroy magic. Although they probably disagree on methods based off his comments about infighting at the end of NT18.

What was the reason for Aleister taking damage from the use of magic? Was it due to the scale of the magic in use (and containing the distortions within their own body) or was there some other reason?

By extension, what was the reasoning for Espers to take damage when using magic? It had something to do with their brains being messed around with but was that all?

If at the extreme ends of the spectrum there are magic and science and everything else is just various gradations in between (and mostly because Aleister set it up that way), is it possible that Espers only take damage from using magic due to the magic being based on Aleister's work (western magic) and thus the damage is just simply 'recoil' from using derivative magic? Could they (potentially) use magic that did not have foundations in Aleister's work without suffering from it? The further extension of this is whether Esper powers are actually 'science', or just magic in a focused form (type specialised).

Way-back-when with Vento they created an anti-magic type zone in AC (leading to Vento effectively self-destructing), but was that fundamentally any different to what they're doing now in London? Aleister should know all the backdoors and zero-day exploits (and is fundamentally the architect of it all)

Read the previous volume again.
When using magic, it sends ripples over the phase. That's what Aleister despise the most and wants to destroy all magic. Using magic is the equivalent of irresponsibly sending ripples over the phase, and it could end up killing people like how his daughter died.
Aleister takes damage from his own magic because he absorbs all those ripples onto himself. He pay the price for his own action.

Also, Tsuchimikado use traditional Japanese magic. He still take damage when using it. So whether a magic us under the Aelister format is not the problem.

As for Esper powers?
As stated by Aiwass, it is an "imitation of Thelema".
