-The beautiful ELISA(#12) is a fixture in this thread though the new single is her lowest charting since her 2nd single "HIKARI" back in 2008 which is a cause for concern.
-DUSTZ(#10) is a 3-member rock band whose members speak fluent French. Their major label debut single "Break & Peace" was the ED to Sengoku Basara.
-coaltar of the deepers(#9), don't know what the confusing name means but this alternative rock group has a pretty cool sound steeped in 90's Western alternative rock influence and this band was formed way back in 1991.
-byTachikiritai(#7) is composed of Shiraishi Kuranosuke, Chitose Senri, Shishido Ryou & Fuji Shuusuke, voice actors in the PoT series.
-FLOW(#5), if you keep tabs on the songs in this thread, needs no introduction. They recently released an album's worth of their anime singles and it seems they are fond of exclamation marks!!!
-Meisa Kuoki(#4) is a Japanese actress and model (she's an exotic beauty)who branched out into music 2 years ago. This is her 5th single.
-GARNET CROW(#3), a unique 4-piece band (1 vocal, 2 keyboards, 1 guitar), is no stranger to Detective Conan theme songs, try OPs 7 & 20, EDs 10,14,18,20,28,33 and the theme song for the "The Lost Ship in the Sky" movie.
-Mamoru Miyano(#2) is the award-winning (2008 best voice actor) seiyuu voicing Ichinose Tokiya of the Uta no Prince-Sama series.
-AAA(#1) is pronounced as "Triple A" which stands for "Attack All Around" is a co-ed group (5 guys, 2 gals) with members who all acted in commercials and had been dancers for other Japanese stars, such as Ayumi Hamasaki and Ami Suzuki.

- HOW MERRY MARRY(Japs and their English)(#13) is a 4-member band who just made their debut last March 2.
- UNLIMITS(see, aren't English-named Jap Bands cool?)(#8) is a 4-member band which was the support act of the american band Paramore on their Japan Tour. It helped that the vocalist of both bands are women.
- Little is known of Tamaki(#5) who debuts with this single. A one word common name makes 'googling' hard and it seems that she is a 3rd year junior high school student which like ClariS before her masks her true form.
- "Roku Tousei no Yoru"(#4) is Aimer's debut single. A lot of new artists in anime and so far with good outputs. Aimer's 2nd single will be used as an ED to BLEACH.
- Mayu Kudo & Aya Ikeda (#2) are a fixture in PreCure theme songs most of which are the cream of the crop of catchy Precure tunes.
- Eternity Love(#1) might be the last of the UtaPri singles to bombard the chart, breaking a string of new entries rarely seen for a anime series making UtaPri the surprise hit this season for both the TV show and the soundtracks.

Just a couple of debuts this week by seiyuus in their breakout roles as the blistering pace of new songs in the previous weeks has run its course making way to the re-entry of the 'name-that-Pokemon' song and Nana-san's new single. A notable mention should be given to ClariS' "Nexus" single for charting at #5 in Oricon with 19,478 copies sold. It is included in the Oreimo Light Novel #9 -also #1 on Oricon's bunko (pocket-sized paperback) chart for a second week and still selling like hotcakes.

- Daisy X Daisy (#7) is MiKA, known as “The Voice of a Far-East Goddess”. This is her 2nd Fairy Tail single after "HOLY SHINE".
- What a great year it is for Maaya Sakamoto (#5) who had her 1st #1 album last January then she got married to seiyuu Kenichi Suzumura last August. Expect another Maaya single next week as "Okaerinasai" Tamayura ~hitotose~'s OP will debut.
- Minori Chihara's (#4) 13th single is her best 1st wk sales since her 8th single, "Yasashii Boukyaku" the theme song for the Haruhi movie early last year.
- "MEMORIA" (#3) is Aoi Eir's debut single although some may have heard her beautiful voice on “Avalon Blue“ found on Listen Anime! mag Vol. 6 as Eir. In all her photos and in her video, she had the lower part of her face covered.
- Mai Kuraki (#2) is a regular on Case Closed. The last before this single was "SUMMER TIME GONE" released late last year.
- CNBLUE (#1), a 4-member Korean band, makes their major label Japanese debut although they have been building a fanbase since 2009 as an indie band, even performing as an opening act for Linkin Park. Supernatural is the anime version of the U.S. TV show and is the first-ever live-action series to be re-imagined in Japanese anime style. The show is very popular in Japan.

Those anison / oricon rankings change so much. Basically anything newly released seems to get on the list for a week.

If that pattern keeps up, I wonder how EGOIST with Euterpe and Departure ranks next week. Actually, I wonder if it'll actually hold rank. I have very high hopes for these songs, especially Euterpe.

@Varaxis, I agree with your views on Oricon charts since it is sales-based it is expected that songs rank high initially btw EGOIST is doing very well as you can see below. "Buddy" is doing fine. It's on its 7th week and is now #129 at Oricon dropping just a few spots, I expect it to be present in Oricon til late next month. Will definitely look into "Transparent".

@ALL: Guys let me know what are your favorite anime songs of the year!!! I'll try to post some highlights next week.
