Well, after I started the game, no matter in winxp mode or not, it provided the choice of voiced or not, hq or not, and whatever...
But after that, before the logo of kid and hirameki even start, it' s already stopped working..

Apologies for the dumb question.
I just noticed that you said "Windows XP compatibility mode" earlier. Do you have Win7 Pro or higher? If so, try "Windows XP Mode" (very different from compatibility mode) from http://www.microsoft.com/windows/vir.../download.aspx Also, did you try disabling any of the features from the first menu? |

XP Mode isn't available on Win7 Home Basic, unfortunately. But if...
1. you have a Windows installation disc, and 2. you're willing to spend ~30mins doing some setup (which isn't 100% guaranteed to let you play, btw ), ... you can get something similar to XP Mode with VirtualBox. XP Mode or VirtualBox both let you run a separate operating system inside Win7 (as a "virtual machine"), which acts just like a freshly-reformatted computer when you first run it. I'm guessing that you'll be able to play on a clean install of Windows (either through a virtual machine, or by reformatting your computer -- the second option is rather drastic, I admit) If you use the VirtualBox method, keep in mind there are licensing issues, so don't activate Windows after you install it (yet); I'll tell you more if required. |

You don't have to since the problem isn't the OS unless there's something in windows 7 HB (or something missing) that is stopping the game from working (considering that home basic is only available in certain country's it might be a language issue that is stopping it from working).
Also just taking a stab in the dark but have you tried running the game as a administrator (use the right-click option first) |

1. "Check online for a solution and close the program" 2. "Close the program" 3. "Debug the program" (only if you installed a debugger) ... There should always be "View problem details" at the bottom left. Does your crash look like this, with the choices in the correct order? (EDIT: Those can be changed through the Control Panel. My bad.) Quote:

1. Go to Start -> Control Panel -> System and Security -> Action Center
2. Look at the left bar, and click on "Change Action Center settings" 3. Scroll down, and click on "Problem report settings" 4. Choose "Each time a problem occurs, ask me before checking for solutions" 5. Click "Ok" 6. Click "Ok" 7. Close Action Center (You can change your settings back later) Now crash Ever 17 again, click "view problem details", and copy+paste the contents here. ============== Also try this, once for "Full Screen" and once for "Windows mode": SELECT "Do not use DirectSound" DON'T SELECT "Use MMX Code" SELECT CPU Level --> "Low Level" SELECT "Reflect CPU settings in the effect switch. |
