Summary:
The story begins with Japan's elimination from the 2018 FIFA World Cup, which prompts the Japanese Football Union to start a programme scouting high school players who will begin training in preparation for the 2022 Cup. Isagi Youichi, a forward, receives an invitation to this programme soon after his team loses the chance to go to Nationals because he passed to his less-skilled teammate - who missed - without trying to make the game-changing goal by himself.

Their coach will be Ego Jinpachi, who intends to "destroy Japanese loser football" by introducing a radical new training regimen: isolate 300 young strikers in a prison-like institution called "Blue Lock" and put them through rigorous training aimed at creating "the world's greatest egotist striker."

Quite the spin to the shonen sports genre, rather than having your regular high school team aiming for the nationals, you got lots of strangers in a “kill or be killed" type of scenario trying to survive while aiming to be the best, even if it means ruining someone else's chances

Given the latest chapter was scanlated, guess I'll try to bump this thread a bit. The first couple of chapters truly helped set the mood for the story

With who as supposed to be the 2nd most important character of the story being kicked out by the end of chapter the MC Isagi no less, even admitting he felt thrilled by doing it

They are really succeeding in creating "egotistic" players

All of the 300 players are split in 5 facilities, each being made up of 5 teams, labelled after letters; for example the facility the MC belongs consists of Teams V, W, X, Y and Z, with him being part of Team Z.

Thus far the manga can be split in two story sagas; 1st selection which spans from chapter 1 to chapter 38, consisting of games between each team, and 2nd selection from chapter 39 to the current.

Maybe they should work on tactics more than to create strikers? LMAO. Japan's not going anywhere in WC 2022 with how they failed to see off a match against the Belgians.

Lol well the real seller here is to see how a bunch of highschoolers masacree and betray each other while suffering mindfucks of epic proportions, not to see if they manage to win the WC

I just hope this doesn't go down the super power soccer route too far.

New chapter update and yup, didnt took to long for things to go south

Now we have the first backstabbing in the series, since only the 2 top teams of the 5 can pass along with only the best strikers from the remaining 3, it didn't took long for someone to sold out Team Z, even if I know how things turn out, cant help but still feel excited

Nagi is my favorite character. Of all the characters there, he seem the most like a forward. It is a interesting manga but I am disappointed in the character relationship.
