Another "final chapter"? It's just clarification about the ending and how Sorachi made the series. Looks like it was overshadowed by Death Note a lot during its beginning in terms of sales. We have another Ginpachisensei with none other than Shoyo/Utsuro while Takasugi asks to explain what the heck happened to him.

In the end, Takasugi is alive kinda like the plant thing from Guardians of the Galaxy named Groot.

Yeah 18 chapters worth of content, no way you can do that in a 2 hours movie.

Gintama The Final debuted in first in Japanese theaters, thus, beating Kimetsu no Yaba (but it is important to note that Kimetsu collected it over box office on the weekend + two days).

The film grossed 531,350,320 million yen and it is necessary to note that Japan has entered a State of Emergency, so several theaters are restricted to 50% and still managed to get a big opening.
