so maybe i lied. the op is growing on me since it happens to fit the OP animation. the animation itself though leaves me with a bad taste.

Mmm.. i thought the op was pretty good.. well the music more than the actual op i guess.. the animation, while excellent, isnt particularly satisfying. I find myself listening to the op quite a lot, nice beat, to go with a tune with a bit of spirit, plus im into electronic, so the nice bass line is good. i like it.

Looks like the division is pretty much even with regard to the new OP/ED combination, judging from the previous posts.

As for my vote, I'm liking the ED better, except the Kugimiya solo parts. But when the three of them actually try to sing together, I think the end product is greater than the sum of its parts, to use a cliche phrase.

Hmmmm, the visuals of the OP were interesting, the song a bit drearier (though it goes with the tone as we ramp towards the emo finish).
The ED was good --- though I still think Vanilla Salt reflects the heart of the show best. The funny about the ED visuals was it reminded me a bit of the Karin series ED visuals -- just Ryuuji style for 3 babes instead of Karin&Anju for Kenta.

I tried transcribing Etude Bird. I think I did fairly well. Though since how I'm a total music newbie, I'm probably off on a few notes and some off the timing--there certainly were some parts that I just kept on listening to over and over but couldn't get right on the sheet music. If there's anybody who's better than I am with music and wants to fix/tidy up the sheet music, please feel free to do so.

Here's a MIDI of the transcription if anyone's interested (for some reason, the MIDI is really quiet, so you'll have to turn your volume up a bit).

It's interesting that Kitamura is now completely absent in the second ED, symbolizing that he is now no longer part of the equation.

So when will the single for the new OP and ED be due? Anyone know?

I wouldn't go that far. Kitamura's still playing quite a role considering how Kihara thinks she's competing against Taiga for him.

Kitamura has to leave the equation sooner or later. If he's to go through any more dilemmas, there basically wouldn't be enough air time for both him and Ryuji to solve their problems.

I also noticed him featuring less time in the OP as well... when it cuts to a scene with each of the "main" cast... ryuuji, taiga, ami and minorin get the same amount of time... but kitamura features just as long as the homeroom teacher and ryuuji's mom... that along with the ending could be a sign...

There's only so much you can hope for in terms of relationship developments, right?

In regards to the OP and ED, I'm enjoying the OP greatly.

There's something about that "My silky love!" reverberating in the background that really gets to me for some reason.
