An Akira superfan built his own version of the bike. This was posted on mainstream Yahoo News, as you can see. Not too long ago they also had a story about Miku Hatsune.

You see? WE ARE LEGION.

Key information at the bottom of the report:
Quote:
Megaupload used to bill itself as a “cyber-locker” that offered blind hosting to enable its users to share whatever they like with friends and family, and it offered a tool that enabled copyright holders to report and remove infringing content. Search giant Google recently weighed in on another case against a website called Hotfile, which functioned similarly to Megaupload. Google argued that current copyright law actually protects these activities so long as the service provider is actively removing hyperlinks to infringing files, much like the search company does with YouTube.
At least two companies, FileSonic and FileServe, closed their doors following the raid on MegaUpload.

Yeah I read that, wonder how long it will take the MPAA/RIAA to try (and hopefully fail) to get the law changed to be less friendly.

That was my opinion to begin with, regardless if they had a legit case or not. Megaupload was gona get hosed to scare the other guys.

In that related article about Google, I found:

Quote:
Turns out, Google agrees, and that’s driving the movie studios up a wall. After Google filed a brief with a Florida court earlier this week explaining why it supports HotFile’s right to exist, companies suing HotFile insisted that the court ignore the search giant’s analysis of their allegations because HotFile’s attorneys had already made similar claims.
hilarious.

It makes them sound like whiny petulant children that just got called out for bullying.

How else do you think he manages to rappel down your chimneys and climb back up... with his bare hands?

Natch.

I will cheer with jubilation the day this stupid bit of misinformation dies. Meat is a healthy part of a human diet.

Ah, PETA... home of false information, bad science, misinformation, and often just passionate but dumb-as-mud members. Have I ever mentioned the time they locked themselves to the wrong building when protesting a neuroscience lab? Or released a bunch of ferrets from a ferret farm who then starved to death in the woods?

I'm absolutely for empathetic treatment of all conscious species but these people are just embarrassing they're so off the rails.
Note from animal kingdom to PETA: "You're not helping us here, go l3rn moar"

A meat-pie confectionery should put up this ad on a nearby billboard saying :

Eat Well
Stay Fit
Die Anyway

Therefore, enjoy each meal as though it is your last. XXX meat pies. 2 minute oven only!

PETA is pretty good about one thing, and that's getting people to talk about PETA. I heard or read somewhere that they intentionally do all these outrageous things so that they stay in people's minds. It doesn't matter to them if it's good or bad publicity, it's publicity.

But is that really publicity for a cause or for the group, if not even for some individual ?

PETA is to environmental activism as the Westboro Baptist Church is to religion.
