An Akira superfan built his own version of the bike. This was posted on mainstream Yahoo News, as you can see. Not too long ago they also had a story about Miku Hatsune.

Yeah I read that, wonder how long it will take the MPAA/RIAA to try (and hopefully fail) to get the law changed to be less friendly.
That was my opinion to begin with, regardless if they had a legit case or not. Megaupload was gona get hosed to scare the other guys. In that related article about Google, I found: Quote:
It makes them sound like whiny petulant children that just got called out for bullying.

Megaupload: Feds Want to Destroy User Data to Hobble Defense: "Labeling the criminal prosecution of seven top Megaupload operatives “unduly adventurous,” attorneys for the indicted file-sharing service claim the U.S. government wants to destroy “exculpatory” evidence so it can prevail in the largest criminal copyright case ever brought. “In essence, the government has taken what it wants from the scene of the alleged crime and is content that the remaining evidence, even if it is exculpatory or otherwise relevant to the defense, be destroyed,” defense attorney Paul Brinkman wrote (.pdf) the Virginia federal judge presiding over the case." I'm absolutely for empathetic treatment of all conscious species but these people are just embarrassing they're so off the rails. Note from animal kingdom to PETA: "You're not helping us here, go l3rn moar"

PETA is pretty good about one thing, and that's getting people to talk about PETA. I heard or read somewhere that they intentionally do all these outrageous things so that they stay in people's minds. It doesn't matter to them if it's good or bad publicity, it's publicity.
