He lampshaded it in Cross Game when Aoba's in the hospital. So she asked her sister to bring her some baseball manga to read. Her sister brings her a copy of Touch. Aoba complains, "but this guy's manga isn't really about baseball". Her sister tells her to make do, and Aoba finishes the scene by thinking: "I knew I should asked for Major".

Timed and I'm now editing. Then we final check it Tuesday. My encoder will be asleep when we finish(time difference 6+ hours). Our translator was out of town all weekend.

Sigh... I suppose celebrating the death and resurrection of Christ, and the saving of all mankind is just a little bit more important than anime. I'm still having Cross Game withdrawals though. I was counting on Big Windup to pull me through.

I feel so useless that I had to pause the video from time to time...I don't know a thing about base....the only other sports anime I have seen is Prince of Tennis AND I only watch the fangirl bait episodes too...
There's something about the script that just makes this more realistic then your average. I can't really explain it, but it doesn't feel 'paint by number' script.

Great release, Heibi, thanks! I tried watching the RAW but I cannot understand the baseball terms. OP and ED are starting to grow on me (I never like them on first listen, anyways). Loved the episode, getting back into the groove with these characters was easy (I remembered every single one of them, that's how much I liked the original).

Pretty much typical Oofuri - slow-pace, occasional baffling dialogue, no internal dramatic structure at all other than a series of events playing out in virtually real-time. But somehow, it works.

It was funny to see the new episode since I ended up watching the entire first season in English and the voice actors are waaayyyy different. Probably one of the few times the English VAs were higher pitched than the Japanese VAs, hope I'll adjust soon so I can stop going "wait, who's talking again?"

But yeah, Adachi stuff definitely hits home with the emotional drama which it was all aces for me, even if they built it up a bit slowly when it didn't really *need* to. I wonder how it'd be like if Adachi makes a romance/drama without a sports pretense?.. |

Was hoping to get the new episode early this week. Oh well.
Was watching the old season and decided that Big Windup is really an ode to love. For what man can truly comprehend the love between a pitcher and his catcher? It's the great love story of human civilization, but it is roundly ignored by most baseball shows in favor of some romantic female love interest.
