They appear to be on stairs, him on a step below her.

That's because the sailor suit looks ridiculous.

What's wrong with the North High sailor suit? It looks great! It's definitely one of the nicer looking school uniforms I've ever seen in anime.

Sailor fuku by itself looks ridiculous nowadays. If am not mistake, it is almost no used anymore in Japan. I don't think a oversized suit looks better, tough.

For a serafuku, yes, it is one of the nicer ones. However, if we were to compare it to Kouyouen's uniform, the latter would easily win.

Hey, it looks great to me. It doesn't look ridiculous to me at all.

One of my greatest appreciations for anime is the sheer aesthetics of it. It's nice to see female characters that actually wear feminine form-flattering clothes. Haruhi has one of the prettiest clothes ensembles I've ever seen a character have.

I don't disagree with you. I like the look of a saylor fuku too (I like all japanese uniform styles, actually). However, a japanese girl wouldn't like to have to wear it, so the 'ridiculous'.

Also, the very idea of having a weird uniform is bad by itself to me. While I like the look, I wouldn't like having to wear then (most uniform here where I live are just a T-shirt and any color-coded shorts/trousands).

I'm not sure about that. Japan's culture is different than North America's, or yours in Brazil, for that matter. Within their culture, perhaps Japanese girls like wearing this sort of clothing... or did fairly recently, at least. Perhaps that's changing, though, from what Kaisos has informed us about in the past, in fairness.

There are pros and cons to schools having student uniforms, but that's a political debate that's way off the rails for the purposes of this thread, so I'm not going there.

the North high ones are nice, my favorite will always be the all black with white bows, from the first Tenchi movie.

Hmm, I think your gender reversed self would still have that same feeling, even more so on the genetic level then siblings. I do wonder if Haruhi and Haruki would actually get along.

That all depends on whether or not they can agree who gets to be the one in charge.

Frankly, I'd love to see the two Suzumiyas butting heads... just not up close, as that would be hazardous to my health. Make Kyon record it.

I said it based in what I (tought) I knew about what they wear now. I've read they don't use saylor fuku anymore, so many japanese girls might think it as old fashioned. Aebliss disagree, and he had been in Tokyo, so I would believe in he.

I was speaking about the kinda of the uniform, actually. Here, students just weara T-shirt with the name of their school, that is why to me is ridiculous have to wear anything so fancy to go to school (my little brother, however, study in a old fashioned school that use a more traditional uniform. Even they don't use suits, however, just a social shirt).

If you say so must be true. I just said it based in what I read elsewhere. I don't have a good basis. However, 'few years back' is a lot of time. These kinda of thing change fast.

Well, back to the topic:
