its the audio in the mkv ifle, im not sure that helps or not, but im using the cccp package, so its FFFD Show audio decoder, i think because i have to have higher decoding principal on the video the sound isn't getting decoded right, if i take off the priority on the video then the video is lagging and the audio is fine, im using haali media splitter.

From the symptoms it sounds like it's vorbis audio, but to be sure get this tool, run it, go tools -> test render, select the mkv that gives you problems and copy & paste the result here.

It's not vorbis after all. Try this solution anyway though.

If that doesn't work describe the problem further. How exactly does the audio fracture?

nah i dont have irc, but im patient, anyways i tried all those solutions but most of the were already set like that soi didnt have to change something. to better describe the problem, the sound is studdering, kinda goes but then stops and chugs through it really kinda slow and starts and stops, its the same problem i had with the video, the video was studdering but then i did
Halli media splitter properies-> options tab->output-> decoder priority boost set to on. maybe that will help a bit.

Your CPU could just be underpowered for the file you are trying to decode. Can you post that information? You could try playing the file in MPlayer, which should be slightly faster.

mplayer refuses to boot up, it says its clashing wiht my directx and i dont have enough video memory, but i can play most anime moves in mkv, ogm and avi's without problems, this one is a pain in the rear, i dont understand why its fighting so bad, when the other ones work fine.

Pretty suspicious that mplayer would say that. Please post a full Insurgent log (File -> save log) so we can see if there's anything wrong with DShow.

well, cant figure out the mplayer, its in binary and whne it screws up it shuts down so i cant get the log, not to mention i dont have a graphical interface for it. im not sure what else to do, im gonna downlaod my series in avi and encoded subtitles hopefully, if you know any other way to fix a sound studder, ill try it but for now i can just wait to downlaod it again.

Not the mplayer log, the Insurgent log. That's the tool you used to test render earlier. Go File -> save log and post the resulting text here.

. You should have a much better chance of playing it with mplayer since its decoders are usually significantly faster then their dshow counterparts.

Well also it seems you have Haali's splitter installed as a standalone as well, so the version in CCCP is not being used. And also you have Ogg DirectShow installed. You should uninstall those first, Haali's Media Splitter and the other should be referred to as "DirectShow Ogg Filters" in Add/Remove Programs. If you can't find the second you will have to manually unregister it by selecting this filter (it should take of all the others pointing to OggDS.dll) in the CCCPI and clicking unregister.

thanks a lot ill give it a try, i know the machine is pretty bad, but it gets the job done on occasion, thanks nicolli and emptyeight for the help.

EDIT: well, the sound is a tad buggy still, but that is int he divx player, ill try the mplayer and hope it doesnt give me any troubles.

EDIT2: good news and bad news, mplayer is really useful, i take back any slander, i have smooth video and smooth sound, the player says my comp is too slow to play the file, but it isnt true, the sound just isnt synced right, if i can fix that i shouldnt have a probelm anymore, s there a way i can do that or what?

Sometimes when audio desyncs compared to video, it's because the computer isn't fast enough.

I just streamed the series NANA 7-13. 6/7 files are in MKV format and my VLC won't play it! everytime I open it in VLC, I can hear the audio, but i get an error report from microsoft that closes VLC. SOMEONE HELP, i'm not very happy right now =(

Pardon emptyeighty who really should have actually read what you posted. It is clear from reading your post what the problem is. Stop using VLC and Windows Media Player. Quite frankly, they don't support softsubs very well.

Try using Media Player Classic or Core Media Player instead. Either of these should show your subtitles correctly.

carpet83 I am I Join Date: Oct 2006 Location: Canada Age: 34	its the audio in the mkv ifle, im not sure that helps or not, but im using the cccp package, so its FFFD Show audio decoder, i think because i have to have higher decoding principal on the video the sound isn't getting decoded right, if i take off the priority on the video then the video is lagging and the audio is fine, im using haali media splitter.

carpet83 I am I Join Date: Oct 2006 Location: Canada Age: 34	nah i dont have irc, but im patient, anyways i tried all those solutions but most of the were already set like that soi didnt have to change something. to better describe the problem, the sound is studdering, kinda goes but then stops and chugs through it really kinda slow and starts and stops, its the same problem i had with the video, the video was studdering but then i did Halli media splitter properies-> options tab->output-> decoder priority boost set to on. maybe that will help a bit.

carpet83 I am I Join Date: Oct 2006 Location: Canada Age: 34	well, cant figure out the mplayer, its in binary and whne it screws up it shuts down so i cant get the log, not to mention i dont have a graphical interface for it. im not sure what else to do, im gonna downlaod my series in avi and encoded subtitles hopefully, if you know any other way to fix a sound studder, ill try it but for now i can just wait to downlaod it again.
