Well, downloaded Plastic Memories as I was under the impression it's a cool anime. Doesn't work on my TV, evidently, but doesn't work on my PC either as it reads the subtitles weirdly, like translates from from japanese hieroglyphs to chinese hieroglyphs, so that's a big help! -.-'
Meanwhile I've downloaded The Seven Deadly Sins of which I've heared purely by mistake, doesn't work on my TV, needlessly said, but they do on my PC, watched 16 eps in a row today and counting. It's really fun. Big 8/10 so far! And the sexual comedy is great, there are some idiotic moments here you won't believe, ep 11 was the best example, lol. This is what in general people call a 10/10 anime, not the best, not by a long way; but definitely top of the line, cuz... there must be many lines. I'm watching the abridged of those episodes now, I love those princesses, they sound like something that would put the fear of God into Adolf Hitler! Luv them! rofl

That's one of my fav anime ever, top 10. Luv it. It gives off a bad type of sadness, it chokes you because it's so real.
It's probably the oldest anime in my list, way back in '79. Did you know it's the 1st anime to show romantic affairs up to the naked point? Kinda funny we have THIS anime to pioneer that.

This AMV has made my day, absolutely brilliant!
Cold Silver Can't get enough of it, made me start the anime again! Going for a 27th watch, been sitting on 26 for too long.

Hyouka by Kyoto Animation, finally did a rewatch after 8 years it was as good as I remember more importantly when I finished it the only thought in my head was that was a masterpiece.
I would say it’s only weakness is the fact that it falls under the mystery genre which means it loses some rewatch-ability (is this not a word?) if you know how each mystery goes so it needs time between a rewatch but it is still fantastic.

Bleach lol
I started watching Bleach with a guy and I jumped like usual from ep 3 to 16 to draw him closer to the best action and he didn't want to watch anymore 1 episode short of The Sereitei arc. -_-' But I can't stop myself now... I finished Sereitei/Soul Society arc and full throttle ahead into 2nd part of Arrancar+Espada arcs! Yes Ulquiorra, Orihime does look good in that Espada gown! She should keep it for when she marries Ichigo!

Made in Abyss 2017 8.5/10 - Some anime master-guy told me about it, he knows I only watch original shit that's worth a damn or I might not even bother starting, so when I saw the poster (which is a picture from the 1st episode of sorts) I said to him "What? What am I supposed to do with these monkeys?" (monkeys = children), but I started watching because I always at least try it. The 1st few episodes weren't much different than I thought (some quality but stupid characters -_-) but by the 4th episode it gets you dragged in, the children like all japonese characters are real mature for their age (of 12) and the action is layered and well paced, just like I like it. I hate too much intro shit like in Bleach or Gintama where they just goof around for ages, so that gets me unhooked. But by the end of the 8th episode, which is more than half the show (not counting the movie) it gets good and you like them little monkeys like you know them.
The japonese love their power rankings, here they are depictured in degrees of capacity in exploring the Abyss layers: the deeper you go, the harder it gets, obviously. So they are shown by the color of the explorers whistles around their necks, the whistles colors being: red - novice explorers, blue - advanced explorers, black - elites, white - bad ass. So far I would put this anime's quality half a point above Vinland Saga and half a point below Black Clover because of the quality of the animation (the worlds shown here are quite refreshing), but not exclusively. Feels comfortable there to me (8.5 which is an easy 10 for most people here). 2,5 ep. LE: Fuck! T_T'' I hate this "survival of the fittest in extremely unfitting conditions kinda shit"! And toss some children in it for good measure, why doncha!? -_- 6 ep. LE (the last ep is 2 ep. in one): Spoiler:
I really can't fathom how some people can call Clannad or Angel Beats! something sad, when they have one of these laying around, I just can't. They're just leagues apart, if swimming in the same waters at all, to begin with. The last 5 episodes were a clean 10/10 if I ever knew what a 10 was! Spoiler:
I'm a change this MF-er to a clean 9/10 out there with Black Clover, Fairy Tail, Attack on Titan, Bleach and the better ones, brilliant last third of it. Can't wait for the movie! Spoiler:
All in all, I've seen some anime top 15 rankings on the net, and this one is at the very top of Don't judge a book by it's cover! And boy, is it earned! TODAY LE: I've seen the movie Made in Abyss: Dawn of the Deep Soul 2020 8.5/10 which is the 3rd movie, the next arc after the anime, the 1st 2 movies containing the condensed series. It was very good, but it was no last 5 eps., those were epic! I will be looking for the 4th next year, because it's superb. I am inclined to read the manga but that'll just ruin the anime, so hopefully they'll make it soon.

Yeh I remember dropping it after 2-3 episodes of fake western into the future! A gun in a waist holster like in the wild wild west movies that I hate... but... in the future, in a spaceship!? I mean.. WTF!? Could be good later on but that really made me uninterested. Trigun was in a way similar and good, but at least people were stuck on the ground in a sort of salvaged society, with a western atmosphere. I just don't buy western in space, it's not for me.
Just found out Demon Slayer the Movie: Mugen Train is out! Hyped! This will be a 10/10 given tonight after I watch it, no contest. Actually a 9.5/10 like the series most probable, but 8/10 shows here are 10/10, so it's clear. Although most anime movies are slightly or abruptly worse than the main series. But I am hearing good things about this one, just like Made in Abyss: Dawn of The Deep Soul, it's actually a continuation of the manga so it's clear it's in the sorts of the same quality. No matter how you look at it, Vinland Saga can't get past an 8/10 (maybe 8.5 if you haven't seen some of the best anime there is). Comparing Demon Slayer with Vinland Saga is like comparing diamonds with silver. 9.5 and above = diamonds, 9=gold, 8=silver. I need to see some of that damned Hashira action more to give Demon Slayer a clean cut 9.5/10 (which I suspect I will), without holding back, because even if the characters and story can be better, the animation can't, I haven't seen anything like it, it's in a class of it's own. That is something in a manga can only be tried, but only in animation can be achieved. PS: Oh yeh, if you peeps want another supposed 10/10 anime that for me is a 8.5/10 from the relatively new stock: Kanata no Astra 8.5/10. So half a point over Vinland Saga as much as I'm concerned. ^^' I've seen it before I joined the forum, but it must be mentioned, because it's very good. LE: My hype was overhyped as there is just the cinema filmed version!

I get you. About this movie, I've watched it during the night (yes the cinema RIP version), it's the 2nd most engrossing movie ever to hit a japonese theatre as it stands now, surpassed only by "Spirited Away" but chances are it will become nr. 1 soon. Well deserved. 9.5/10 still stands for this anime. I can't quite give it a 10 because other anime have better stuff here and there but overall you can't realistically expect more. And on the 3rd place is Titanic, lol. The japs really enjoy their dramas! It's not as much a movie, it's 6 episodes into one rather, 4 on the train, 2 besides the train.
ufotable really hit the jackpot with this one, literally.

Year Count Average Rating(5 stars)
2013 35 4.20 2014 26 4.15 2015 28 4.14 2016 27 4.41 2017 39 4.08 2018 47 4.26 2019 27 4.04 2020 16 4.25 That's my anime viewing history for the last 7 years(only completed TV, film, OVA, special). I think my standards are pretty high. Sometimes I'll watch a 6/10 show because I think it has potential to get better, but never really does. |
