Golden Kamuy Anticipation

Quote:
This year's combined 36th and 37th issues of Shueisha's Young Jump magazine is revealing on Thursday that Satoru Noda's Golden Kamuy manga is inspiring a television anime adaptation.
Synopsis
Quote:
In the early twentieth century, Russo-Japanese War veteran Saichi “Immortal” Sugimoto scratches out a meager existence during the postwar gold rush in the wilderness of Hokkaido. When he stumbles across a map to a fortune in hidden Ainu gold, he sets off on a treacherous quest to find it. But Sugimoto is not the only interested party, and everyone who knows about the gold will kill to possess it! Faced with the harsh conditions of the northern wilderness, ruthless criminals and rogue Japanese soldiers, Sugimoto will need all his skills and luck—and the help of an Ainu girl named Asirpa—to survive.

Great news, this is one of the few manga that show the beauties of Hokkaido and it is always good to see series about soldiers of the Japanese empire.

Don't celebrate yet. Maybe in the anime version, Sugimoto is a modern-day high school girl from Ikebukuro.

I suppose this is yet another on the list of "always wanted to check out the manga, might as well just wait for the anime"...

No matter how bad the production of an anime is, they tend to at least maintain the characters' races and sexual characteristics, but certainly 50 years from now, when the number of foreigners becomes so high in Japan that mangás facing for this audience, there must be racial or gender changes between the characters.

Hmmm...

Madhouse, MAPPA or M3 would be my guess based on that.
