A question regarding the splitting into two separated cours:

I know Vampire Knight goes on hiatus after episode 13, being replaced by Natsume Yuujinchou in all of its timeslots. Now I've been trying to find out when the series would resume its run, and fall has come up quite a few times (making Natsume Yuujinchou only 12-13 episodes long, meh ). Should I take this information with a grain of salt or has it actually been confirmed?

At least, people won't have time to really lose interest if things go that way.

I have seen the first 7 episodes, can anyone tell me that there will be a cool fight in this anime? from manga for example, is there any development that these vampire kind of have some power and fight with each other?

Yes its related. Kaname is the ancestor of their clan and was raised as her brother. So they have the same blood.

They're released in la,la magazine the 24th of every month EXCEPT this month the author went on vaction so the next one won't come out till september.. BUT matsuri hino promises and extra long chapter to make up for her absence

I have a question or two about VK:
- Will there only be 2 seasons of the anime?
- Is the manga better than the anime? Even then, I'm not sure I should read it, I hate spoiling things for myself, and the anime is only a bit more than a week away. And animated color stuff is more fun for me than reading manga :P
- When the second season starts, how much time will there be between episodes?

Since the show runs at 1:00 am on a weekday morning, the popularity is really going to be minimal.

why is the manga out monthly? is there any public reason stated by the author? does it need to take a month to produce a chapter of manga? boo hoo hoo.

The manga comes out monthly because it runs in a magazine called LaLa that is published on a monthly basis. Does it take a month to draw a chapter? I would say, "Yes, it does." I've read many mangaka comments about how they're often running late on their monthly deadlines.
