oh man i love the hajime no ippo opening! then extended version makes it even better!!

hmm... all time fav anime song eh? i really like GTO's first and second season openings:

L'arc en Ciel - driver's high
Porno Graffiti - hitori no yoru

they're so catchy!! not to mention fmp's openings/endings are always good bc they're always by Mikuni Shimokawa!

also the ending theme in the escaflowne movie... er... "Yubiwa" by maaya sakamoto! there we go! that song was realllly niceeee.

i dont have an absolute one... but i feel kinda nostalgic if i admit this... the dbz openings (NO NOT THE FUCKED UP AMERICAN VERSION...). i loved all of them especially the season where gohan is in highschool. it brings me back to the super famicom days!!! sigh

cant forget "Tank!" op in cowboy bebop! and while we're on the jazzy big-band theme, gad guard had a good op/ed too!! which brings me to recent anime "Gungrave" which also has a goood jazzy bigband thing going on.

ohhhh and i cant forget "Cruel Angel Thesis!!!" thats a classic

Although I love almost all of the anime music that is out there, my current favorites are:

Full Metal Panic Fumoffu - "Sore ga, Ai deshou" - Shimokawa Mikuni.

I went shopping in Ikebukuro ( Which in turn is in Tokyo ), and it took me FIVE stores to find the darn CD for this song. In the end i ended up shelling about 1200 yen, or 11 bucks for it. But ohhhh has it been worth it. Sadly I am only in Japan for another couple of weeks

My favorite theme is Love Hinas. All of Cowboy Bebop's music is good. (I just got the cowboy bebop box set so I'm a very happy camper.)

This leaves me torn between a few... let's see, Venus Say, Kuuki to Hoshi, Heart of Sword, Sora E and Geki! Teikoku Kagekidan...

As for BGM, I don't really know many, but I think Kakusei from Chikyuu Shoujo Arjuna is actually really really good. Just some parts are a little odd.

Every Heart.....the third ending to Inu Yasha, it would have to be the feeling of sadness and hope, combined with an upbeat temp (not to mention the beautiful singers voice) makes it my favorite anime song.

True Light, DNAngel's OP, is really good too.

Definitely the Fushigi no Umi no Nadia (Nadia: Secret of Blue Water) opening theme, "Blue Water" by Miho Morikawa. I've even become a big fan of her since hearing that on the soundtrack. It's a shame how obscure she is..other great anime themes she's done:

Ranma 1/2 - Positive
Fushigi no Umi no Nadia - Yes, I Will
Original Dirty Pair OAV - By Yourself

Another favourite anime song of mine is Matsushita Satomi's "Koibito ga Iru Jikan", also from Nadia.

Yeah... I love Blue Water too, I can imagine Nadia and friends on a ship enjoying the sea breeze, riding through the waves and watching the seagulls soar above the wind ~ ah... freedom...

Sadly many good artist are quite low-profile, or is it they are popular in Japan, only we don't know it.

Cruel Angel's Thesis(Eva OP)
Hemisphere(RahXephon OP)
Realize(G Seed 4th OP)
Believe(G Seed 3rd OP)
Invoke(G Seed 1st OP)
So Much Together...(G Seed 1st ED)
Sore ga, Ai Deshou(FMP! Fumoffu? OP)
Meteor(G Seed insert)
Dimension of Love(Tenchi Universe insert)
Trust(Vandread OP)
Shell(Witch Hunter Robin OP)
Ao No Requiem(Samurai Deeper Kyo OP)
Through the Years and Far Away(Voices of a Distant Star theme)
White Reflection(G Wing Endless Waltz theme)
A Thousand and One Nights(.hack//LIMINALITY 2nd OP)
The Sacred Moon(Shingetsutan Tsukihime OP)
