Obviously this serie is not a stand-alone, it only serves as advertisement for the game. So they introduce as much as possible characters and doesnt care at all about the story.

The worst thing about this episode was the fact that there could have been an interesting plot with the villagers willingly producing what amounts to weapons and the guy trying to stop that, but they went with him being a lunatic instead.

varel having vision seeing herself one in black & other in white fighting each other give showing different view how they been slayed.

give varel & her crew call in destroy rebel group give in the rebels yuu find out is whole trap both rebel & some of palam want varel gone.

way varel is from being no emotion, scars, etc (yea part ran "clean" varel scars) then yuu tried reason varel to no fight cue attack mode.

then varel go in charge rebel & yet see that all trap regardless full dark aura she slice them all in halves give seeing them as her white version & arka.

all that done with 2 crew also beat down army varal it all the same return to palam base going don't trick varel or else include part ran talking to someone on this yet dog goes boom.

etc roana & crew take on the go give offer hazuki join them yet take only for just hunt arka get bounty yet karen with all happen indeed revenge is silly.

Spoiler for Episode 2-5:

Watched the last five episodes recently, the story wasn't bad but the bland execution and characters that only have semi-decent personalities could have been done so much better. Alca's character in particular is a one-trick pony that only seek revenge just for the sake of avenging the death of her master committed by her worst enemy. The funny thing compared to most protagonists these days is that she speaks less than around 30 lines per episode with Varel talking even less speachs than her. The fighting choreography was alright, the visuals are bright and crispy, the only that bothers a lot recently was the low-quality animation which is expected from Gonzo's modern standards. I'll keep watching just in case it'll get better until the end, the important thing is that Alca need something to shine herself beside seeking revenge.

Alka and Jin Varel are similar, so if Jin Varel has a "white" version so well Alka then be able to have a "black" Version of it?

White Varrel is probably her good side. When Black Varrel cut down White Varrel, they suddenly swap places and it was Black Varrel lying on the floor. It probably symbolize how she's losing herself when she killed off her good side. That's my theory anyway.

I don't know why Alka decided to go visit the sea. Maybe she's tired of that vengeance business and is going to just chill at the beach.

For some reason, after watching six episodes... I feel that both Alka and Jin Varrel are pretty boring for a protagonist and antagonist, respectively. Now, the plot is getting screwed up!

arka in sand beach then see mori (village girl from ep.1) invite arka to boat of cleansing village to the "mother" give place people had face paint mark then meet the "mother" said she want rid of the "impure".

then furry merchant appear notice arka in village which got spread around to karen hearing it that bad news for arka & cameo doing of roana give speech & hazuki being drill sarge to roana's new members.

night time arka had talk with mori about search & revenge doing yet "mother" appear yet cue bell ring it a trap.

cause boat cleansing is cult area with "mother" going joe carroll cult level to have mori kill arka to be "clean" then raining arrow appear with arka take time to escape.

arka see furry merchant did arrows shot help arka yet mori going want revenge for her old village then karen to rescue then ask will kill arka bring everything back?

yet mori let arka live & all that done karen saving arka then ask her something from 3yrs ago yet get her answer in a "thank you".

Blade and Soul is like a murder mystery show. Each new episode, there is a bunch of new (and forgettable) characters and I wonder who gets to be killed.
