This evening my desktop was acting funny again. I noticed that no programs icon show in the task bar like usual. I checked the registry and found almost the startup registries got deleted. Also some programs' exe file got deleted as well. I don't remember do anything like registry optimizing etc. Does this mean a virus/spyware attack? I tried recovery console but either recovery point didn't work.

Well that's oot for this thread. Then I decided to use Drive C back-up and switch from IDE to AHCI mode before it. I restart the computer and enter bios switch IDE to AHCI there; as expected it didn't work. I searched for the solution on the net, but I couldn't find any article I need. Most of the article I found is about P5B-Deluxe.

mobo: Asus P5B
HDD: WD 5000AAKS (SATA2 500 GB)

Any one has ever tried this on P5B? Is it even possible? any guide, advice is appreciated.

One again a very silly question. So I lost my SoundMax digital audio as well. I reinstalled it and it works, but now, the volume bar that usually appears each time I change the volume from the keyboard disappeared. Any one knows where to enable it?
