E3 2017

------------------------------------------ E3 pretty much starts tomorrow with the EA presentation, so what are your predictions? Do you have a game you hope is announced during any of the presentations? Did you already print out a bingo card? Who do you think will "win E3? Personally I am definitely interested in seeing the MS presser to finally see what this mythological Scorpio is and what games they have if any (not like I will buy one but still). Sony's is the one I am the most excited about (I am mainly a PS and Nintendo guy) because I want to see if they can surprise us for a 3rd year in a row and get the hat trick. As for Nintendo I mostly want to see Mario Odyssey and hopefully more about Ultra Sun and Moon. As for the rest of the presentations I am definitely not happy with how they treated Mass Effect so they better make up for it with Battlefront 2 and Need for Speed. Bethesda hopefully surprises us with either a new IP or The Evil Within 2 which I want to see what they do with the sequel because the first one was too much of an RE4 clone to stand on its own, yet it had a very interesting premise. For PC I expec... zzZZZZzzzzzzZzzz... wha, what happened there? I think I blacked out for a second... what was I doing? Oh yeah E3. And finally Ubisoft... I totally expect them to continue their trend of embarrassing themselves with Just Dance, hopefully there aren't any furries dancing around this time.

Strangely enough not that invested. Will take a while to get through my current backlog. Finding out there are more games I'll have to add to that will create mixed feelings .
Microsoft seems almost dead at this point. Do they have any exciting exclusives on the way? Feels like anything with potential has basically been cancelled. Though on that front I am curious to see what they'll even do for a presser. Show off the Scorpio and....what? Some non-exclusive titles I guess? Otherwise will see what happens. I figure Sony will do well since they don't have that much competition console wise to worry about. Probably just expand on some of the games they revealed last year and show how they are developing. Like Last of Us 2 and God of War. Toss in a few surprises and that should be good. Nintendo should have some interesting things to show off. Though there isn't anything I'm specifically excited to see. I suppose another Mario trailer wouldn't hurt anything. Not excited about Sun/Moon 2.0. Maybe they'll have some kind of surprises though.

Well, I did make an appointment on my calendar at work for Monday to remind me to watch the SONY presser. Not really expecting much this year, but it's tradition at this point.
Other than that it's, of course, another year of waiting for a new installment of Half-Life, whether it's HL3, HL2:E3, HL4, or something else entirely. But whatever case, I want to know what the hell happens after HL2:E2.

I'm hoping we get a new Elder Scrolls game or another new IP from Bethesda.
Also hyped for Far Cry 5 (hope to see some game footage), Destiny 2, Cyberpunk 2077, Call of Duty: WWII, and God War. I also hope they show gameplay footage from the new Assassin Creed game.

It's clear they have a pipeline schedule going to avoid droughts, so it's not likely they will show anything that will overshadow ARMS, Splatoon 2, and Mario Odyssey. I still believe a Pokémon Switch is real, but I don't think it will happen anytime this year. |

Shadowverse is showing the trailer for its new expansion
Other than that I have no idea what games are rumored to be shown but as usual I'll watch Nintendo and see how Microsoft gets destroyed by Sony again. Hopefully there will be some good adventures / RPGs. |

They could surprise us with new 3rd party game announcements whether they're ports or actual multiplatform games

I haven't kept up with the news, so not sure what to expect from this E3. Based on the last one though, I want to see more of Spiderman (please be good, please be good), God of War and Death Stranding.

ughhhh....I shouldn't have woken up early for EA conference (it was 5am here in Australia)
Regardless of the content, I think EA is still in the dark on how to run the conference: _ lots of talking from people who we don't really care or should care about, mostly with the phrase "I did this.....", "I saw this and it was awesome"....etc....why do they keep pushing "behind the scene" stuffs in these conferences? _ cringe-worthy set piece and poor attempt to "hype the crowd" I think last year Sony nailed it in presentation, like the saying "show, don't tell", it's okay to give a brief introduction, but continuous rambling on "how exciting it is to..." is just plain bad and distracting Just show the freakin' gameplay and people will figure it out, even more so when lots of discussion will be generated which is NOT a bad thing at all. If there is anything that you think need explaining in words, do it in tandem with the footage. Granted, EA was doing just that, but those were just talks on really REALLY obvious stuffs, like "the sun is bright, and the night is dark"

Things I loked from the EA conference:
- Need for Speed + Fast and Furious + Burnout? Yes please. - Battlefront 2 was pretty cool, looked better then the first one at least. - Anthem looks interesting, but for some reason (Scorpio and a lot of money) decided to not show it on their own conference and gave it to Xbox for tomorrows conference. Everything else was pretty meh in my opinion. P.S. I cringed at how they started the conference.

EA setting the low bar for everyone else this week.
Everything about the conference was multiplayer, or specifically competitive multiplayer. There feels like ever more sports this time around. It might be unfair to single out EA for this but BOY does this presentation feel so damn corporate. Who was the Star Wars lady?

Not really a completely gaming person, but I'm also watching the E3 trailers. (I just want to see Ubisoft's E3 trailer for Assassin's Creed Empire.)
BF1: From Russia, in War is going the Rey Route with introducing a female player character. NFS Payback has elements of The Fast and the Furious, that trailer chase gameplay video just screams that. Anthem boasts a new setting and that alone. Way to disappoint considering people expect E3 trailers to be less teasers and more substantial content. Quote:

I have some interest in Anthem right now but hopefully the gameplay we'll see soon will be worth the hype. Battlefront II looks decent along with the Battlefield 1 updates. I'll probably give it a try in the future.
Everything else felt dull. The presentation itself by EA had some really awkward moments and first hour didn't impress me.

EA's conference was really uncomfortable at times . Way too much time spend in that 'developers corner thing' and not enough just showing off the games. That thing could have been at least cut in half by just cutting out the nonsense portions. Also seemed like they were having problems with the teleprompter or something. Even their 'youtube creator' who I honestly have never heard of was hilariously awkward.
The woman for the Star Wars announcement was also pretty weird. Seemed like she was trying to play a serious character at one point and then just gave up and started announcing the game like a normal person. Battlefront 2 doesn't look bad. Plus kind of impressed and surprised they won't be making people pay for the updates and extra maps and such. Maybe they are worried about people just not bothering to play long term if the content is cut up. Though there has to be some avenue they plan on cashing on since just releasing an online game without some paid DLC doesn't seem very EA. Not surprised the major sports game focus went on Soccer and Football. Hockey is always the forgotten sport.
