[Manga] Characters that died too soon

Well Zabuza should have been more than a minor villain
Haku and Kimimaru had a lot of potencial a shame that they died

I would have preffered Haku going down in a Blaze of Glory than Zabuza . Haku was a better chracter than Zabuza . But Zabuza's death makes the plot more intresting Kisame has a grudge against Kakashi ( Kisame and Zabuza once being part of Seven Swordsmen of the Mist ) . Dont know if Kishi will utilize that in the future

If one Akatsuki member had to die in rescue Gaara arc , it would be better if Deidra had died IMO

Kisame mainly has a grudge against Gai for kicking him in the face. He did remark about Kakashi killing Zabuza, but he seemed more amused about it than anything else.

If I was Kishi I would have used that to create bad blood between Kisame and Kakashi . Battles are way more fun if they are personal . Also as a chracter they would help Kisame outgrow Itachi's sidekick

Kimimaro was just too strong to be left alive without screwing the storyline. He was born (created by Kishimoto I mean) to die that way.

Haku possibly. He wasn't that strong to begin with. His bloodline limit is good, but other than that, he was only slightly better than Sasuke who just graduated. For someone 3 or 4 years older, who already fought many battles, that's simply not good enough.
Post-timeskip, I think that all the former genins (yes, even Ino) are stronger than he was. (and they are the same age than he was).
Anyways, he fullfilled his role. If he hadn't died, he wouldn't be as cool as he is.

I like Chouji a lot. He was awesome in his fight, but I wish he hadn't survived. First, the concept of pills that make you super strong but kill you is stupid if they make you super strong, but don't kill you.
Second, he would have died as a hero. (Ok, not a really good point). He would be the Haku of Konoha.
Third : It would have had great consequences on the storyline : Shikamaru would have become twisted (once he overcomes his depression) and start hating Sasuke. Even Naruto would be caught between his will to bring back Sasuke and his anger against Sasuke who sided with the murderer of the Third (I have always been wondering why Naruto and Sakura never mention that) and for whom Chouji died.

Kakashi has already developed personal grudges with villiains already. Zabuza (though he's dead now) Kabuto, Itachi..

...possibly Deidara for destroying his arm with MS, and if Kakuzu somehow surivives this fight he'll definitely remember not being able to steal Kakashi's heart. There's his possible relationship with Tobi (if you believe the rumors)

So Kakashi has his plate full. Gai on the other hand has no nemesis. He's really too strong of a character not to have a main enemy so he gets Kisame. Their rivalry is rather comical too. Kisame's furious at Gai for kicking him in the face 3 years earlier and imagines himself to be Gai's most feared opponent but Gai doesn't even remember who he is, which pisses Kisame off even further.

Shikamaru implied that he would've quit being a shinobi if his friends had died from their injuries. It wasn't until Tsunade informed him that they were going to recover that he stated he would continue to serve as a ninja. Besides, there are already enough characters that suffer from "I lost my best friend/comrade" syndrome. Jiraiya regrets not being able to save Oro, Kakashi regrets not being able to save Obito, Naruto regrets not being able to save Sasuke. Did we need Shika joining that club?

I second that, though I hope we get to know some other jinchuuriki instead. I want a damn evil one for a change, someone that even the Akatsuki will have problems with.

And I think the comparison between Deidara and Sasori is a little unfair. I'm fairly sure Sasori got way more development than Deidara because he was going to die, and Deidara wasn't. I personally like them both and thought it was sad to see Sasori go, but after that fight I don't really feel like another puppet fight anytime soon anyway.

I'd say yes, in as far as I don't know what Shukaku could do to him...crushing him doesn't work, plus I don't think the drilling air bullet would do much other than possibly fling him.

SPOILER WARNING!! I really think asuma shouldnt have died in his fight with Hidan. He was one of the more versatile jonin in the series. He wasnt a ninjutsu specialist like kakashi, a taijutsu specialist like Gai, or a Genjutsu specialist like Kurenie, he was just good at everything. He sort of balanced everything out. He didnt even finish telling Kakashi what he was trying to say. We dont know what his relationship was like with the 3rd or Konohamaru. They really did kill him too soon even though he was around for most of the series. And above all else he was Shikamarus teacher. Even though Shikamaru avenged Asumas death agianst Hidan, they killed one of the better charcters.

The ones i think shouldn't die in later series:
1. Diedra n tobi......... they make me laugh a lot... infact they are the only ones in akatsuki who are funny..........
2. itachi uchiha.... i would rather watch sasuke die then itachi.........
3.kakashi.......... if kakashi dies then will stop watching this anime.......
4. Jiraiya............. cmon man......... who else can make you laugh a lot
5. kurenai.. i wish the one who attempts to kill her must die instantly. well not if its Itachi........
6. gai n lee...... if they die then there would be no one to compete with kakashi n naruto and that would make series boring to some extend........
