I didn't realize there was a numbered episode 28. I thought the recap was the "Love Hina ~Final Selection~" that came with the Love Hina Live concert DVD.

about the girl of the promise, the problem is that even in the manga, it is not very clear but we can guess it

Naru AND Mutsumi: Mutsumi promised Keitaro and Keitaro promised Naru
no, it was not motoko, no it couldn't be motoko, motoko would have been an infant at the time. The manga states a couple of times that's it's naru/mutsumi
Granny Hina's exact words: "Silly boy, she's standing right next to you!" (although each and every girl shows up in the next frame...it's OBVIOUSLY Naru)
doesn't matter anyway, he marries Naru.

There is no second season of Love Hina, there will never be a second season of Love Hina
the OVAs take place a short time after the spring special, though they basically cut out an entire volume (where Naru, Mutsumi, and Keitaro go to Okinawa...again, disappointing because it was kind of an important volume -_-)
and: there are 24 episodes aired on TV, one that only made it to DVD, 2 specials, 3 OVAs, and 14 manga volumes
buy the manga, it's worth it

well after watching what really is love hina again

things seemed to be cleared up but lol now it's wierd.

Ok- this is where I think you guys might be off- may the spoilers start.

the new girl, Keitaro's sister is not the girl of the Toudai promise. She had the promise with the annex and they just reveal it in the last love hina ep to throw you off.

but remember "Moe-chan"

the lil girl with the blond hair that looked for some reason to have fake joints.

At the end of love hina again Haruka says something along of "aah Moe-Chan, she/you too had a promise with Keitaro."

!!! Also- once again at the end of Love Hina after Keitaro's confession, Mutsumi says "she wasn't the one, and same with naru. She also hints there were many."


now, im convinced it's not Motoko. And now i honesty think its this Moe-chan charactar.

In a way, i think the anime did this because after Love Hina Again it is more cleared up. Not really of who it was but the fact that, Naru was involved, Mutsumi, his sister, and even that Moe-chan chick even though it was mentioned for like 2 seconds. Really gives the message there were many and in the end the line

"I don't care i wasn't the girl you promised but i like you"

has alot of bearing. Honestly though- i think people are assumign it's Naru because she says she's not, Mutsumi says she's not, and in ep 24 the recap of the promise you see Mutsumi watchin and dissapointed, then you see Naru walk up and recieve the gift, while ANOTHER girl kisses Kei-kun after the promise.

thus...why i put it in spoiler tags...most of the time if i put something from series like GTO or Love Hina (series which end before the manga does) in spoiler tags, it means i'm using info from the manga

and if you couldn't predict Naru and Keitaro ending up together after watching all 25 episodes, both specials, and all 3 OVAs, i'm sorry but i feel sorry for you...they even hint at it at the end of the 3rd OVA (they get engaged...they don't get married until 4 years later and i'm STILL not sure they've...um...displayed their love for each other yet (got interrupted both times during the story: once due to lack of condom and the other i won't give away since it's a decent plot point)

the anime of Love Hina killed all chances of continuation after the spring special, unfortunately:

After Keitaro bombs another mock test, Granny Hina sends over another girl to tutor Keitaro. The girl's name is Miduho Fujisawa, and she is a Tokyo U student. Throughout the game she makes reference to the promise she and Keitaro made when they were young to go to Tokyo U together.

In the end it is revealed that she truly is the girl Keitaro made a promise to all those years back, but after seeing how happy Keitaro is with Naru, she decides not to tell him and leave Hinata. If you did exceptionally well in the game, she actually confesses to Keitaro and they become a couple.

So there... Miduho is the "promise girl", it's not Naru or Mutsumi. But she only appears in the Dreamcast Game, she is completely absent from the anime and the manga. It's a shame because she is quite a cool character.

well let me just say

[spoiler] THE CONFUSED N00B WAS RIGHT! At first it makes you believe it's Naru but IT'S NOT. I knew there was a 3rd chick. In love Hina Again you almost believe it's Keitaro's little sister but it turns out she was the reciever of another promise.

Naru: So who's the girl in his memories?

Mutsume: There are alot of them. We are in his memories too.

Also if you watch the flasback that goes with it to me it looks like there are 3 girls. Mutsume and Naru watching.

also- how do you know the dreamcast game is correct? Honestly I think the writers did all this to confuse the audience as all hells and made it unclear on purpose(an excuse or honest reason who knows).

I'm still thinking no body knows. but Moe-chan how come the charactars acted like they recognized her?

*oh and I knew they'd get together. But getting married is one of those obvouis things you'd rather atleast be happy to see/somewhat shocked.

It's just one of those things you want to see for the first time.

i thought the manga made it clear, about 3 times (twice through hinting, and like i said vol. 10 was REALLY important...because you find out from Mutsumi, who regresses back to age 5, just how exactly it happened) which is why the promise-thing is a non-issue until the latter half of vol. 14 (and remember, Granny Hina even says it's Naru)

the anime, manga, and game are three different worlds:
1) Miduho doesn't exist in the anime or manga
2) in the anime, Keitaro, Naru, and Mutsumi never go to Okinawa a second time
3) Moe-chan doesn't exist in the manga
4) Kaolla's siblings don't visit during the manga (which was pretty much the only section of development that would have worked in the manga as well)
5) (this should be the most obvious) Shinobu starts living at Hinata house BEFORE Keitaro in the manga, and AFTER in the anime
6) Nyamo isn't an orphan in the manga, and Pararakelse is QUITE inhabited
7) Keitaro doesn't seem to have his pot fascination (i.e. digging up pots during plot points...) in the anime

Miduho is actually an original Akamatsu creation, so I guess that makes her pretty much legit, unlike characters like Kentaro Sakata and the Motoko Fan Club. She was a treat for the Dreamcast gamers who purchased Love Hina.

As I said, it's a shame she does not appear in the manga or the anime, as she is pretty cool (she is even close to replacing Mutsumi as my favourite character, she is that good).

I guess you are right, the anime, the manga and the game are three completely different stories. But the issue of Keitaro's promise is only solved clearly in the game.

hmm ive watched/read both the anime twice... and they both kick ass... of coarse i would like the anime to be finished with all the endings and the middles... the manga definatly filled in the blanks

ok... i saw love hina about 6 months ago.... i left it in Love Hina Again eps 3... where there any more releasings ?? or all the other stuff u mentioned are in the manga???

About the promise girl.. i really thought it was Naru.. :S she did had the stuffed pet after all.... :S but oh hell doesnt matter
