Draft 1

POV: "Irish"
Location: Tatenashi and Irish's room

"A-Are you sure about this Tatenashi-neechan?" I ask her.

"Just trust me Irish-kun, you look really cute!" She smiled at me.

"W-Well, if neechan says so then I guess it's true"

'Neechan's so pretty, maybe if I help her I can ask for a kiss later if I do this'

With the thought of a kiss, I grab the chinese clothing and put it over my body.

Time skip: 30 minutes later.

POV: Ichika Orimura.

I was given a break for an hour since I worked really hard, that's good since I've been getting pictures taken for the past 3 hours.

'Why do they want to take my picture anyway? It's not like I'm anything special'

I was walking towards Rin's class to visit her, she said she was doing a chinese cafe so I'm really looking forward to it.

"Welcome sir!"

A bunch of girls were running around dressed in Cheongsams and serving the tables of the (Mostly male) customers. It looks really lively here.

"Hey Ichika, over here!"

Dan was calling me from table at the corner of the class, he was sitting across from Rin and next to a white haired girl who was looking down at the table with a red face.

I walk towards the table and sit down across from him.

"Hey Dan, did you spend your entire time here?"

"Of course! I was gonna look around first but I met this cute girl and decided to stay."

"This idiot hasn't left yet, it's giving me a bad mood" Rin interjected

"If only Rin over here was as nice as her then they'd get more customers."

"What did you say!"

"P-Please sir, you're embarassing me."

"Don't be so modest, why don't you introduce yourself to Ichika over here?"

The girl looked up and stared at me.

"I-I-I'm Iris sir, pleased to meet you."

Her appearance could be described as adorable, she had snow white hair reaching to her neck along with pale skin all throughout her body and yellow eyes. Her chest was flat but that just added to her cute appearance.

"N-Nice to meet you too Iris-chan"

"Hey Ichika...why are you blushing?"

"W-What are you talking about Rin I'm not blushing ahahahaha"

"I see my cute little sister is getting herself some attention."

Tatenashi-senpai walked towards our table and adressed all of us. wait...did she just say little sister?

"Neechan!"

""Your sister?"" Me and Rin asked in disbelief.

"She's not really my little sister, but she sure acts like one"

"uuuu~ Neechan's embarassing me!"

"Hey Ichika-kun, come over here a moment"

"Me?"

"Yes you!"

I follow Tatenashi-san outside of the classroom.

"So, have you figured it out yet?"

"Irish!"

"Irish? I haven't seen him all-"

"He's THERE! he's the one dressed in the Cheongsam next to Dan!"

"WHAT!?"

"So we have to get hi-"

"It can't BE!"

"R-Rin?"

"She's been attracting customers all day and she's even getting more attention than some of the other girls and now you're telling e she's a HE!"

"Rin...that's not important right now"

"He was even getting more attention than I was! Are you saying that a guys more attractive than I am!?"

"No! That's not what I-"

"I did see you blushing earlier..."

Location: Irish and Tatenashi's room

'Why did I do that?'

I was sitting down on the bed just staring into space, right now I was just so damn confused.

Earlier...when Sarashiki told me she showed the video I felt...hurt by it. What's happening to me?

'What the hell is this!? Why am I so surprised!?'

Sarashiki walked into the room, she looked like she was thinking of something.

"Hey...Irish-kun"

"..."

"Say something"

"..."

I didn't know why I wasn't talking to her, normally I'd avid trying to make her mad for Joshua's sake...but right now I just don't know.

"I...just wanted to apologize."

She sat next to me on the bed.

"...Apologize?"

"I've gone too far...I'm sorry."

"No...you don't have to apologize for anything"

She shouldn't have to apologize.

"It doesn't matter to-"

"Yes it does! You were hurt weren't you?"

"Why would I? It's not like I trusted you in the first place-"

"Now you're just lying"

I wasn't lying, only Joshua's freedom matters at this point.

"I'm not lyi-"

" I saw you get hurt Irish, you can't just say I don't have to apologize!"

"..."

"I know I went too far that time and I'm sorry, will you accept my apology?"

"Alright...if it matters that much to you then I accept."

"...Thanks"

Arms encircle my neck and I felt a warm body press against mine.

"...What are you doing?"

"Hugging you, it's part of my apology."

"...Let go"

"No."

I didn't know why I didn't protest more, I felt...calm and...happy instead of the usual fear and paranoia, what was happening to me?"

"Thanks...Tatenashi"

"Hm?"

"It's nothing"

The draft is good, I expect you to fleshes out the conflict because it's seems like a small matter here. Tatenashi CAN'T have development from such situation.

I usually just post the bare bones of a draft when I put them here. When I make the real ones then they'll have all the parts.

Is the first one okay too? That also leads to a mood whiplash since that's when he'll see Squall and recover his memory. BTW, Dan can never get a break can he? The one day he gets to go to IS academy and he spends it with a crossdressed guy.

Irish was an odd kid to be sure, he looked to be about 8 years old and he still chose to join us, I still didn't know why Mason allowed it.

"Come on Irish, we can't stay too long"

"...Not yet"

I see him pull out a knife and make his way towards the body.

"Irish?"

*Stab*

"Hahaha"

Irish did something I never expected. He kneeled down to the ground and started stabbing the dead pilot over and over.

"What are you doing!"

Karon: That's... where you are wrong... (picks herself up while clutching her stomach) because... I really do care. The world you've seen... is only a small part of the whole universe. (stands up) Stop this, stop hurting yourself.

Irish: (slowly laughs, then openly cackles)

Kyuukai: Got you. (gets into position and squeezes trigger)

Karon senses immense pressure coming from far.

Karon: Look out!! (partial summons)

Bang, then a tremendous crash of shattering steel.

Irish is shocked as broken IS armor scattered from Karon. She lands writhing and clutching her arm, blood trickling out of the unshielded shattered IS arm.

Irish: (confused)

Kyuukai: Eh?!

Riselle: (boosts into range) Karon!!!

Karon: I... can protect you... if someone tries to hurt you... I can... protect even those you can't protect... but... I can't stop you from hurting yourself... Please... Aaahh...

*other ISes start landing around them and forming a defensive perimeter*

Irish tries to run, but Erika intercepts him. Tio jumps to his back, rifle raised. Riselle lands beside Karon while Celeste floats overhead. Irish reaches for his knife.

Riselle: Don't move! You're making it worse.

Karon: You've done enough...

Riselle: Karon! Your wasting your breath on him!!

Karon: We'll get Joshua. We'll bring him to the Academy. That's neutral territory. No one can touch him there. You too. Come with us. Please.

As I said, Amnesiac!Mode is one way for Irish to show his well-locked human side, either it's Karon or Tatenashi that become the 'key' for him to shown it for real (Not in amnesiac mode). and embrace the new meaning of life other than revenge.

@Meister - Nice one! Kyuukai wouldn't have tried to shoot Irish at that point though He's against killing people if he doesn't have to and he'd probably try to tranq him rather than snipe him. Especially if he knows it's a misunderstanding.

Why would Karon suddenly glomp him though? Seems kinda odd that's all.

Irish also wouldn't have gone on a monologue about his motives What's the point of telling an IS pilot that he hates the infinite stratos? Probably most males in the world hate it too at that point so he wouldn't say anything and just tell her to shut up.

He'd probably just threaten her not to say anything about his past (he still thinks she's gonna blackmail him) then try to leave. He would tell her to cut the hero act though

They really can't do anything about Joshua though After the failed mission he's in critical condition and in a coma to boot. FRACTURE isn't the bad guy here and in fact they're losing a lot of money keeping Joshua alive at this point Irish himself doesn't hate them as I said before, he just resents the fact that he has to keep working to keep Joshua alive and get his freedom, but anybody else would've let Joshua die and killed Irish so he really doesn't complain about it. He does wish they gave him a more conservative partner

I guess swapping him for another IS pilot would work. I know a lot of 1-2 who'd like to be in that position...

I thot it came at the end of the fight, and after the Newtype scene, so he'd be a bit more amicable.
