The future of this forum

I figure once this has been released on DVD, since it could take a while the forums might go silent, apart from the manga section, us FMA fans wont be gathering here daily for all-out discussions.

Nah... People are always outsmarting those honest ones... They'll surely find the way to get the episodes anyhow...

Canadian POV:

DVD set of a 50+ episodes show? Crazy. Do you think this pull-out would encourage 12 years old leecher to get the whole set of DVD worth more than US$300+? Whoa. Even for the dub, in Canada, we don't have Cartoon Network so...

The bottom of the food chain.

We might not have CN, but YTV has started picking up it's fair share of anime, even if most of the stuff lately has been young kids anime. And they aren't going to chuck out the whole series at once, unless you plan to wait for the box set to come out, you're looking at $30-$40 a month or every other month (If you lack employment, I can see where this could still be a problem).

YTV doesn't have something like Adult Swim like CN in the States does. The highest-profiled anime they got to date is Inuyasha. [sad indeed]

Their late nigth shows are shite English sitcom/soaps or crappy cheaply-made children comedy/drama productions.

I can guarantee there's no chance FMA will be on YTV - ever. UNLESS They bring the Adult Swim franchise here.

I think you're emailing the wrong people. ^^;

YTV or Youth TV is a subsiduary of Shaw Entertainment, which is inturn owned by Viacom Entertainment (if I remember correctly). If you're going to demand a show, start at the top. ^_-

Kraze

...

Yeah, people know where to find things... The forums will still be here for those people and several who watches the raw, such as myself. The Naruto manga is licensed and you see everyone downloading, reading, and discussing on AnimeSuki, even the mods and admins. So don't count the forums being dead anytime soon .

Last edited by Technovia_EX; 2004-05-12 at 16:59. Reason: censored out illicit information on where to find licensed anime.

I prefer to think of it like this, Only 2 stations show anime right now (unless you have satalite or something) and I think there's less of a chance that Teletoon will pick up Fullmetal Alchemist than YTV. Although chances seem slim, I doubt they're zero.

On a side note, does anyone know if the US ever finished showing the TV broadcast version of Escaflowne? Or did they only get the 6 or so episodes shown on FoxKids?

i probably wont leave, but just proposing. I mean, isn't this what forums are for? To talk about the series as it is released weekly? Now that the DVD's are coming out, only a percentage will go buy the DVD's, the rest will...ahem...But ne ways, until then, what's there to rave about? For you all DVD's buyers? I don't think i can get DVD's for a while, and even if i do, i have to wait until they release the DVD with episodes 31 + (i'm in Australia, the last place on earth that anime DVD's come to).
Anyways, i believe it so, unless they have already started releasing them in North America...Either way, this forum will die down in the next few weeks. People who keep raving on about episodes weekly will reveal that they are watching illlegal episodes. J00 might get banned ?

It's completely okay with Suki to discuss licensed episodes weekly (take a glance at the Chrno forums), but we are not allowed to disclose where we're getting it from. And a lot of people watch it in Japanese (either raw or they live in Japan) so why can't they continue discussing also?

Well, I've yet to find another Forum where informed FMA followers can discuss the series and speculation in a decent and civil manner (with ill-informed fanboys like me) without the usual flaming inherent in other less well managed boards.

I hope this forum doesn't implode after the Licensing announcement. Sure it sucks, buit I don't plan to ever watch the Funimation versions so realistically nothing has changed.

Sure we'll have to skirt round where we get the now 'unofficial' subs and raws, but I think the speculation and theories are more important...

Well Teletoon showed duckman and those borderline cartoon porn shorts called Lolita, not to mention they showed Ninja Scroll and never cut any of the rape, blood, or cursing.

But that was then, they lost their spine. They dont show anything adult really aside from that gabage called Quads.

It sucks really, YTV was starting to pimp out anime as somthing in it's self, but now it seems they have lost their way

BTW- am I the only one who saw the anime releases for the week in the little bar at the bottom of CNN

I said Kraze and it was censored, wtf? Mods are seriously stupid... I did not link anyway, nor said anything that would lead people to Kraze. I'm sure people don't know that is... Pissy mods.

Here are some raws for those who asked:
http://www.l33t-raws.com/bt/

And mods: Even Anime-Kraze is listed on AnimeSuki... I just said the word Kraze and you decided to censor? Idiot...

its a shame that it was licensed before they finished this was one of the few shows that i actually waited each week to watch.

and in canada there really are not a lot of anime stores

You live in BC, you have better things to do than watch anime rofl

But dont worry, we wont have to give it up, we just have to switch brands. But how about for the sake of those who may continue to help us watch this, how about we dont mention any group names or say how to get it.
